Consultancy - Trade Finance Trainer*

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This training aims to cover mitigation tools for payment, performance,
currency, and shipping risks (among others), by exploring common credit and
payment terms, lending products, shipping terms, hedging strategies, insurance
products, and more. The consultant will give an overview to the participants
on the numerous financial solutions that are offered to businesses and how
utilizing the right financial tool can have a positive impact on their
business.
Tasks:*

• Explain the fundamentals of the governing rules of trade finance.


• Provide knowledge on the role of financial institutions (such as: Banks and Chambers).


• Assist participants with understanding the mechanism of action of trade finance tools and their general risks.


• Identify common contract and payment terms used in global trade.


• Compare key trade finance instruments and credit products that are used globally.


• Provide clear concepts of process flow of complex methods like letter of credit, bank guarantee and collections.


• Ensure that the participants understand the payment methods used in international trade, Pros and Cons of each payment method, and how to select the tools fit to each business model.
  Deliverables


• Agenda structure and timeline.


• ‎1-day intensive program for FEC 's member companies, providing them with needed knowledge about trade finance.


• Comprehensive manual on this training module.


• Brief USAID consultancy report describing the purpose of the consultancy, progress achieved, observations, issues and/or problems encountered, and details of expected follow-on activities by USAID TRADE or its stakeholders.
  
  Required Qualifications:


• ‎7+ years of related experience in banking/trade finance.


• Strong knowledge of successful international best practices.


• Time management (in managing deliverables).


• Fluency in Arabic and English (verbal and written).
  
  Project Overview and Role:
  USAID 's Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on
  decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with
  the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium
  Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on six selected sectors:
  engineering products, food processing, home textiles, ready-made garments,
  chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the
  Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and
  reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and
  export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small- and
  medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access
  new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade
  and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and
  drive economic growth.
