Role Purpose:

Work together with the functions and business operation teams in Africa to
deliver sales Growth, high productivity, profitability and successful
implementation of the Coats Africa business plan in accordance with Coats
policies and strategies. Support all functions through strong leadership to
support speed and quality of decision across the whole value and act as a role
model in term of behavior and focus on all aspect of compliances and H &S.

Key Accountabilities:

Leader of the sub-cluster
* Demonstrate leadership working with all functions to coordinate and deliver the defined priorities and objectives. Be the champion of the "growth mindset ", empowerment and courageous decision making and strong performance management. Driving a step change in the talent bench strength and succession plans Africa. Deliver the capability improvement agenda across AFRICA. Lead the development and implementation of Agile/Scrum working practices across AFRICA to engender speed, empowerment and cross functional working processes. Promote efficient communication across Africa. Lead the key activities across the market especially monthly S&OP sign off, global and cluster initiatives.
Operation accountabilities
* Ensure the company meets its goals related to Health & Safety
* Building a sustainable and open H&S culture
* Achieving leading & lagging indicators
* Contributing to the development of H&S in the Cluster
* Meet Sustainability target and ambition - water, waste, energy and ZDHC compliance
* Develop a pipeline of projects to achieve the result and ensure effective execution
* Contribute to the development of the sustainability efforts in the Cluster, sharing knowledge to support others
Achieve expectations on conversion cost and productivity
* Understand movements in conversion cost, and conversion cost per unit each month. Take action to ensure goals are met including reducing people where necessary
* Ensure specific focus is made to achieving the spares and repairs budget and that there is a robust management practice in place to do so
* Ensure a project pipeline is in place to deliver productivity - in accordance with Group productivity measurement methods and signed off by finance. Ensure the projects in the pipeline are implemented on time to expectation. Where we fall short of plan ensure other projects can compensate.
* Sponsor "step out" projects that can drive a step change in conversion cost such as footprint changes
And in general the Cluster Manufacturing Director must ensure the units
under his or her control:

* Adhere to Coats SOPs related to all relevant parts of their manufacturing process
* Report timely and factually on all matters including H &S and sustainability achievement
* Operators are trained adequately
* There is an active agenda related to LEAN manufacturing in each unit including the use of visual controls and Kaizen
* Invest in the right things; and investment plans are diligently drawn up and secure approval via the IAAF process

Support Profitable Sales Growth in line with Global business strategy
* Deliver the customers ' exact quality and quantity requirements at the right time with lowest cost.
* Ensure that all company assets are used effectively and efficiently and the processes under the area of responsibility are capable of fulfilling the current and future requirements of the business in line with the strategy.
* Build, develop, and sustain a culture for new product development and manufacturing technology breakthroughs
* Meet a minimum of ‎90% OTIF
Financial accountability
* Ensure the key parameters on the business scorecard are delivered across both the leading and lagging indicators
* Seek to improve the efficiency of the end ‎2 end processes to deliver customer excellence. Ensure the key parameters of the global transformation initiatives are resourced and delivered. Annually, agree the resources that will be required to deliver the year on year delivery of the ‎5-year plan.
Involvement in CLT key accountabilities
* Work together with his peers at cluster level to ensure continuous improvement is, Cluster Financial forecast Performance, end to end Supply Chain (Key service KPI progress), S &OP Forward looking .. Vulnerabilities and Opportunities and risk management, Marketing plan update and playbook implementation, People / Talent management, Recognition plan implementation, Strategy Implementation and Cross functional project review
Responsible for delivery of the overall performance in Africa:
* E2E / safety / compliance. Integration of the organisation across Africa.
Interdependency with Commercial teams
* Be the senior Coats representative on the ground and resolving customer issues.
* Work with commercial teams to improve the total "Coats customer experience". Ensure connectivity between sales, customer service and the rest of the business. Working with the commercial segment leads to deliver the sales and GM% target, sign off and agree with Commercial head the demand plan, Agree and support the successful implementation of the key annual marketing plays and initiatives. Act as the spokesperson for Coats within the cluster for key marketing initiatives at events.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:

* Prior management experience
* High level of English language skills - written and spoken
* Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong capability to coach, motivate, lead and manage people, teams, process, and projects.
* Global mindset and good understanding in change management
* Ability to operate in a matrix business environment
* Communication skills
* Proven experience on people and team management and development.
* Capable of working in a competitive, demanding and time-critical environment
* Adherence to company policies and procedures and compliance with all relevant legislation
