The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian
agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world

particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
WFP's Regional Bureau for the Middle East and Northern Africa (RBC), based in
Cairo, Egypt, provides strategic guidance, policy/technical support and
direction to WFP operations and activities in 16 countries: Algeria, Armenia,
Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, State of
Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and Yemen. These country offices
aim to assist roughly one-third of all of WFP's beneficiaries (approx. 30
million) in some of the most critical humanitarian emergencies of our time.
RBC is also active in the 'Changing Lives' side of WFP's mandate, helping
national governments and local communities improve nutrition, livelihoods,
school feeding, social protection, climate and disaster risk reduction and
other programmes that build resilience and support development.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) MENA Regional Office is seeking
a highly skilled and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media
Content Creator. This position will primarily focus on managing the social
media presence of WFP MENA and its senior officials, to ensure effective and
timely communicating of their work in lieu of WFP's mission, activities, and
impact in the region. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in
social media content creation and multimedia production with strong technical
skills in video editing.
Content Creation:
* Develop compelling and engaging written content tailored to the Twitter platform that reflects WFP's objectives and appeals to the target audience in the MENA region through creating high-quality, original tweets and threads that align with the region's messaging and priorities.
* Establish and maintain a content calendar for WFP MENA senior official accounts, ensuring a consistent and strategic posting schedule.
* Monitor and respond to real-time events and developments to adjust the content calendar as needed.
* Coordinate with the Regional Director's office and other departments to gather upcoming events, campaigns, announcements, and initiatives for inclusion in the content calendar.
* Collaborate with communications teams in the region to source footage, images, and graphics as needed.
Video Editing:
* Conceptualize, script, film, and produce short videos (including interviews, event highlights, testimonials, etc.) that effectively communicate WFP's work in the MENA region and are optimized for social media.
* Apply expertise in video post-production, including color correction, audio enhancement, and the integration of graphics or text overlays. Transform raw footage into captivating and professional videos that effectively convey WFP's work in the MENA region and optimize them for social media platforms.
* Structure and sequence video content to engage the audience and effectively communicate key messages. Select impactful shots, trim unnecessary footage, and utilize transitions and effects to create a cohesive and immersive storytelling experience.
* Ensure videos align with WFP's branding and style guidelines. Integrate consistent colors, fonts, logos, and overall aesthetics to reinforce the recognition of WFP and create a professional and cohesive visual presence across social media platforms.
Monitoring & Analytics:
* Stay updated on current affairs, humanitarian issues, and regional trends to ensure timely and relevant content production.
* Monitor and track social media conversations, trends, and mentions related to WFP's work in the MENA region.
* Monitor and analyze the performance of Twitter content using analytics tools and provide regular reports and insights to the Communications team and the WFP MENA senior officials, highlighting account performance and areas for improvement.
* Report and escalate any emerging issues or trends that require attention or response from the Communications team.
* Use data-driven insights to optimize content strategy and maximize engagement and reach.
* Identify and analyze sentiment, key influencers, and emerging issues to inform content strategy and response.
* Proactively engage with followers, respond to inquiries, comments, and direct messages on Twitter.
Education:
First University degree or advanced university degree in Communications,
Marketing, Journalism, or a related field is preferable.
Experience:
* Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in managing social media accounts, preferably for organizations or public figures, with a focus on Twitter.
* Previous experience managing embassies, humanitarian organizations, or governments' accounts is a plus.
Language:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Strong knowledge of social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
* Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) is a must.
* Knowledge of humanitarian issues and the MENA region is an asset.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
