experience of teaching within the National Curriculum for England or a
British-style setting commencing in September 2023. The successful candidate
will be expected to teach Biology across the Senior School including GCSE and
IB, and General Science in Key Stage 3.

Person Specification
* graduate in Biology or a related subject with Qualified Teacher Status and a MINIMUM of three years teaching experience post-QTS;
* enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies;
* recent experience teaching Biology within the National Curriculum for England and (I)GCSE, A level or IB;

To comply with Egyptian employment law, applicants must have QTS and a MINIMUM
of three years teaching post qualification teaching experience.
Remuneration
The British International School, Cairo (BISC) operates a similar teaching
scale to schools in the UK which increases with teaching experience. All
salaries are tax free and paid in Pounds Sterling. The current basic salary
for a teacher with three years ' experience is £34,000 p.a. while the salary
of the majority of staff (six years experience or more) is over £40,000 p.a.
In addition all overseas contract teachers benefit from a generous housing
allowance, private BUPA Gold medical insurance, annual return flights to the
UK, and 2 free places for children of school age.
