Our client a Kuwait-Saudi partnership is one of the leaders in transaction
processing and offers international, top-notch electronic transaction
processing services through high speed, robust electronic information network.
The company plans to hire an AIX Administrator for their office in Kuwait.
This is a permanent position with the following job responsibilities:
Key Job Responsibilities
* Install and configure AIX operating systems and servers , Support AIX OS to run various software applications,
* Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related hardware.
* Maintain , upgrade the AIX OS with Installations and testing AIX OS patches.
* Develop procedures for AIX security and management.
* Develop performance improvement initiatives for AIX system environment.
* Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.
* Creation of VIOS, LPARs, Configuring the IBM V7200 SAN Storage, Zoning of the LPARs in SAN Switches, Ethernet mappings, installation and Troubleshooting problems with LPARs., backups of LPARs and VIOS, Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
* Ensuring system availability and collection and maintenance of relevant logs. Ensuring system integrity, security. Generating daily, weekly and monthly reports of system activity and availability.
* Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.
* Developing plans for implementing new features on AIX systems and deploying the same. Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity
* Handling user requests with respect to file system space, connectivity problems, and password resets etc, handling of automation scripts and maintaining the AIX security policies on system as per company policy.
* Installation and Migration to AIX 5.1 ,and AIX 7.1.
* Experienced with SAN Storage, V7200 and V4200 IBM Storewize.
* Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.
Qualification/Key Skills
The candidate should be have an IT degree and qualification related to AIX
from IBM with 5+ years of relevant expeience with a reputed company
