Stantec is currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join our dynamic
team and support on a design review and construction supervision project in
Kuwait
Some of the key job responsibilities of this role entail this following:
* Responsible for reviewing the design proposals, work program, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, payments, variation orders and claims etc.
* Effectively manage the site supervision staffs during construction & ensuring the works are being carried out according to the Contract specifications.
* Ensure monitoring on the quality of materials and workmanships installed, operated and maintained.
* Maintain the Resident Engineer's daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
* Liaise with Client, Project Management and Contractor for resolution of project issues, in addition to concerned Authorities when required.
* Strong understanding of operation and control philosophies of surge protection devices, capable to review & approval of Contractor submittals for hydraulic studies & calculations, pumps, surge vessels, control valves.
* Supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
* Ensure the site safety practices
* Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
* Familiarity with conditions of contract, quality assurance.
* Liaise with client, co-ordination with Governmental Organization and other Consultants/Contractors
* Consistently adheres to and enforces internal Company processes and policies such as business and contracting rules.
* Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
* Works in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies

Qualifications:
* Degree in Structural Engineering, from a recognized University.
* Graduate structural/civil engineer chartered or registered engineer from an internationally recognized institute.
* Minimum ‎15 years of GCC and demonstrable experience.
* ‎20 years varied experience in structural design of major sanitary or water distribution engineering facilities (minimum ‎10 years in WWTP, ‎5 years in P.Stn and ‎5 years in other works).
* Extensive knowledge and experience in project execution and implementation sewerage and drainage projects.
* Resident Middle East experience.

* Leadership: Strong managerial and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate and provide guidance and direction to a multi-disciplinary project teams, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
* Management of Personnel Resources: Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
* Must demonstrate his experience in respect of the technical proposals evaluation and its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical problems that may arise during construction.
* Experience must include all environmental protection aspects of the construction and operation of similar size sewerage networks projects.
* Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
* Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites is essential.
* Experience must include all liaison and coordination aspects of the construction and operation of large sewerage networks projects with particular emphasis on public relation and stakeholder coordination. Experience should also include successful management for traffic organization and utilities diversions in similar urban sewage projects. He has to ensure the compliance of the constructed drive with project's specifications and international standard.
* Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
* A proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
