Range Technician

Job Description: Range Technician Valiant has a requirement for a Udairi
Range Complex (URC) Range Technician to serve at Camp Buehring, and the Udairi
Range Complex in Kuwait. Range Technician will report directly to the Range
Technician Lead and ensure the proper integration and synchronization of Range
Operations supporting efforts across the Range Technician Team to enable
successful unit training events. He/she will oversee all planning, range
scheduling efforts and training functions in order to enable uninterrupted
unit training. The Range Technician will be subject to providing specified
TRACR operating system targetry operations and AAR equipment related tasks (to
include implied tasks) are fully supported. Range Technician will be assigned
specific operational tasks which they shall be responsible for the
comprehensive operational support of. The Range Technician will perform range
targetry checks / PMCS, post / inspect range safety signage, range markers, C2
Tower operations, AAR operations, range maintenance coordination and
scheduling, evacuate NMC equipment to forward RS maintenance facility.
Additionally, as required, shall provide detailed conduct of the range
briefings to requesting units and assist with unit CONOP development as well
as SDZ development in collaboration with URC Plans section.

Responsibilities:
* Ensure all range supporting efforts are coordinated and resources identified early during the planning process.
* Coordinate directly with training units and other authorized organizations for all assigned range facilities.
* Assist as required URC ROPS GEO data base upkeep and development.
* Review all applicable unit concept of operations submittals and DA Form ‎2977 (DRAW) submittals, to include ensuring all required documents are associated under applicable RFMSS assigned Range Control Number Identifier (RCNI) unit facility reservation.
* Ensure gunnery scenarios and live fire training exercises are properly integrated and synchronized to ensure all range safety requirements are in compliance with the ASG-KU Range Operations Policies And Procedures (PAP) as well as associated AR's, DA PAM's, TC's, FM's and TM's as are applicable to SME requirements.
* Assist unit with Scenario Development IAW approved shot sheets as required.
* Assist units in coordinating scheduled training area to ensure unit can train in the local training area and remain compliant with Kuwait environmental directives as well as applicable Host Nation range usage requirements.
* Provide operational expertise in the development of Combined Arms ranges in support of evolving USARCENT training requirements.
* Responsible for ensuring the enforcement of Safety standards on all ranges and or training areas in accordance with; AR/DA PAM ‎385-‎63, AR/DA PAM ‎385-‎64, AR ‎350-‎19, AR ‎385-‎10, TC ‎25-‎8, KU APG, ASG-KU PAP, and all other applicable safety regulatory publications.
* Collaboratively update the Range Operations Publications library for internal use.
* Perform as assigned, unit pre, during and post inspections.
* Perform as applicable ‎2062 range equipment property transactions as required.
* Coordinate range maintenance / range setup support requirements with Range Operations Support section, via Mission Training Support Requests (MTSR) process in
collaboration with requesting units.
* Performs other duties as required as are assigned by the Range Operations Lead.
Position Requirements
Required Hours : Standard work week will be six (‎6) days per week for up
to eight (‎8) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s), and a standard ‎40
hour work week while at CONUS work sites, shift work is a requirement.

Required Qualifications :
* Former Junior Leader with Division, Brigade, or Battalion, Mechanized Infantry or Armor experience on a brigade or division staff in planning and executing gunnery and or live fire collective live fire scenarios.
* Knowledge of all weapons systems in an Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) and Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) with Subject Matter Expertise focused on Armor, Cavalry, Mechanized Infantry, and or Light Infantry Small Unit Leadership to include wide knowledge of all associated weapon systems.
* Knowledge of range operations at major training sites such as the NTC, JRTC and JMRC, with Subject Matter Expertise focused on ABCT and or IBCT formations.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to all applicable safety guidelines including: AR ‎385-‎63, DA Pam ‎385-‎63, TC-‎25-‎8 and Area Support Group - Kuwait Udairi Range Policies and Procedures.
* Expert knowledgeable with AR ‎385-‎63 Range Safety and DA Pam ‎385-‎63 Range Safety.
* Experience working in a Joint Combat atmosphere.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
* Highly proficient in reading and using a map, giving and accepting directions in topographical terms, and in communicating map information with other members of the Range Operations Team.
* Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

* Ability to exercise good judgment and insight, to understand the overall effect of decisions.
* Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

* Must have a valid driver's license, able to obtain a US Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Kuwait Driver's License.
* US citizenship is required as this position needs an active/current DOD Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
* Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
* Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to ‎8 hours/day & sit for up to ‎3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.
* Previous experience working on a US government contract in Southwest Asia.
* Infantry or Armor NCO Advanced Course graduate or equivalent schooling or higher.
* Knowledge of military training methodologies.
* Knowledge of the Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming training environments.
* Experience with current US Army Battle Command Systems.
* Experience working with interpreters and other country national labor force. Required Education:
