Main Duties/Description:
* This position is responsible for managing the pastry and bakery team and production.
* They will plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees.
* They will be responsible for selection, training, leading and coaching of the culinary staff.
* The Executive Pastry Chef will also be responsible for fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
* They will develop recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of all pastry items.
* They will be responsible for controlling labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling and inventory control.
* They will communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met, coordinate tastings and pre-shift meetings with employees, attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments and interact directly with guests.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
* Three to five years previous luxury hotels/ resorts experience in multiple culinary/food & beverage department head positions specializing in pastry design and creation.
* Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency.
* Strong leadership skills, adaptability and high level of creativity
* Coaching and People Development Skills.
* Good F&B knowledge with understanding of menu planning, cost management.
* Culinary training or degree required.
