She/he will be in charge of conducting the trainings and stand for the
livelihoods activities and plan for seed funding, in addition will support all
field level operations and supervise incentive workers, documentation, etc.

ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY




Role and responsibilities
Under the supervision of Youth Empowerment and Engagement Project Manager
(YEEPM), the Youth Development Officer will be responsible for organizing
and conducting trainings and facilitating peer to peer discussions with youth,
liaising with staff of youth center and partners and supporting all other
project activities in his/her location of work. He/She will be responsible of
the correct implementation of project’s activities in the youth center,
ensuring the achievement of the expected results. He/she will be responsible
for the timely and affective implementation of ctivities. Also, he/she will be
responsible of establish and maintain transparent, functional relationships
with the target youth and their families.
Generic professional competencies:
* Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context(Livelihoods and youth empowerment and engagement);
* Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional intense situations;
* Documented results related to previous responsibilities;
* Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel;
* Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
* Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting;
Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
* Knowledge of the youth and adolescent contexts and have knowledge about their needs ;
* Knowledge of the youth support Knowledge of the basics of Child Protection and/or psychosocial support;
* Understanding of the circumstances, needs and challenges refugee/IDP children face;
* Understanding of the role of livelihoods in meeting the needs of IDP/refugee populations;
* Understanding of INEE minimum standards;
* Experience in community mobilization and/or relationship building;
Standard responsibilities
* Firm adherence to the ACTED Code of Conduct;
* Obey to ACTED policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines;
* Ensure proper filing of documents;
* Make decisions on the ground with limited or remote supervision;
* Contribution with the implementation of the education project according to the plan of action;
* Prepare and develop status reports as required by management;
* Promote and share ideas for technical improvement;
Specific responsibilities
* Supervise initiatives and seed funding of youth inside the youth center of Dohuk;
* Conduct trainings on daily basis to youth on Life skills, employability, entrepreneurship and active citizenship;
* To implement of livelihoods activities under the direction of the Youth Empowerment and Engagement PM;
* Supervise education incentive staff and provide support to them in line with program objectives;
* Provide support to ACTED activities and incentive staff in line with ACTED quality standards;
* Ensure direct communication and feedback with beneficiaries and relevant host communities;
* Ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting of projects at field level;
* Organize and implement distributions of Training and Learning materials;
* Contextualize and adapt content of the sessions of the training;
Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager A minimum Bachelor degree in Business management, Social Work, Pedagogy or other related to the training and youth development field of studies;
* Languages: Mandatory: Fluency in written and spoken Kurdish and Arabic, Good in English;
* Minimum of ‎3 years of relevant NGOs’ experience (working in the education and youth skills development);
* Experience in capacity building youth;
* Capability to establish good and respectful relationship with other actors;
* Able to train and manage a team (to listen, advise, support, solve conflicts, motivate, etc.);
* Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, monitoring and reporting;
* Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct;
* Patience, good personal organization, good communication and ability to work in teams;
* Efficient and responsible, with good personal accountability;
* Very good interpersonal and diplomatic skills, especially with beneficiaries facing difficult situations;
* Initiative, flexibility, team spirit, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude;
* Ability to work under time pressure, independently and with limited supervision;
Computer literate (IT) and good level of numeracy
NOTE: _The Youth Development Officer position is based in Dohuk, but
daily presence in the
sites_ / Youth center in Duhok* _assigned will
be required. He/she should visit the assigned sites whenever needed and/or
requested by his/her line manager and according to standing operating
