Manager - Data Analytics (Internal Audit)
Job Purpose:
Support the Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance functions in
performing data analysis and support in achieving their objectives. The role
is expected to help define and lead the roll-out of the audit and risk
analytics strategy, as well as contribute in reviews/assessments by acting as
a value-add resource providing insights through analytics. Additionally, the
role will provide valuable, trusted business insights and help develop the
team skills in using analytics as part of their reviews.
Key Accountabilities :
Data Analytics:
* Work with internal audit, risk and compliance leadership to enhance the department's data analytics capabilities.
* Analyze complex data, identify anomalies/trends/risks, and provide practical insight to improve internal controls.
* Prepare documentation and analytic dashboards/reports that effectively and efficiently provides summarized results, analysis, conclusions to stakeholders, with supporting details readily available.
* Communicate the data requirements and ensure that the department receives access to the source information needed, understanding of the data relationships to the business processes.
* Identify data analytical routines that can be developed to meet similar objectives across multiple audit groups, to maximise return on investment.
* Develop strong working relationship with IT and business analytics team to leverage data, tools, and knowledge sharing.
* Develop automated scripts to allow auditors to execute data analytical programs for similar or recurring audits.
* Contribute to the design and implementation of effective continuous monitoring and auditing strategies.
* Provide insight and guidance on the interpretation of reported exceptions/analytics outputs so that appropriate actions can be taken by the audit teams.
* Comply with data standards and information security policies.
* Stay abreast of new trends and developments in data analytics to develop and ensure success of the department's data analytics program.
* Develop innovative, re-usable tools, scripts and solutions that can be leveraged by the Business Audit and Audit Analytics teams.
Reporting and Communication
* Summarize and discuss analysis performed and key observations with relevant team members.
* Assist with the preparation of reports where dashboards and charts based on data are required.
* Assisting with Audit Committee reporting requirements.
Expected Qualifications:
* A relevant degree in business/statistical analysis/accounting.
Expected Experience:
* At least five years' experience in a data analytics role with some managerial responsibilities. A minimum of 2 years of experience is expected with an internal audit function, a risk function, a control function and/or previous experience in analysing business processes.
* Demonstrated record of successful, high impact data analysis projects and outcomes; especially with assurance functions. A background in a business/auditing/risk role would be an advantage.
* Experience of creating queries and scripts for data analysis. Working knowledge of data analysis software; good understanding of data systems, data query and coding language methods, such as R, Python, SQL, SAS etc.
* Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, Vlookups, and creating macros (VBA)
* Experience of using data analysis and visualization tools Power BI and Alteryx
* Outstanding project management and analytical skills with an ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
* Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team and be a strong team player
* Experience of supporting users with ICT and data interpretation.
* Ability to foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders to build trust, loyalty, and commitment. Engage and partner with key stakeholders proactively to address questions and concerns, resolve issues, manage expectations, broker consensus, manage conflict, and provide stakeholders with proper direction and expertise.
