Head of Data and Digital Transformation

The Role

Shell LNG Marketing and Trading is looking for an experienced manager leading
the delivery of data and digital programmes of LNG Trading at Shell.
These new programmes will incubate, develop, and with IT to deploy digital
solutions to support commercial growth by enhancing and streamlining the
technology platform as well as structuring and optimising data across business
functions, internal + external counterparties.

LNG Trading organization plays an integral role to support the Trading &
Supply (T&S) business strategy by maximizing the value derived from the LNG
value chain and generates significant cashflows for Shell.
The Data and Digital Manager reports to the GM Business Integration and
Assurance (BIA), Commercial & Strategic Delivery. This leadership role will
ensure connectivity with other data and digital initiatives across T&S and
manage a team of highly motivated analysts
What is the Role?
The Data and Digital Manager is responsible to create and deliver a digital
strategy and transformation program for LNG Trading working closely with
Strategy manager, the LNG Trading business and the IT Manager. The digital
strategy will focus on defining Point C within the refreshed strategy, and
creating a roadmap within the ‎5 Digital Ambitions: Digital Customer
Experience, Systematic Trading, Advanced Analytics, Quality integrated Data
and Frictionless Process Execution.
This role will also drive the data governance and data models working closely
with Data Architecture in ITD and the Data and Digital teams within Trading &
Supply.
Provide the interface for other Digital teams & IT leadership regarding the
incubation, development and deployment of strategic data and digital
opportunities.
The role will include:
* The position will initially have ‎4-‎5 direct reports (data and digital analysts, project managers) and the prioritization of the multi million annual technology budget which is expected to grow significantly.
* Drive innovation change in the LNG industry finding solutions for industry challenges
As well as being an experienced manager with excellent interpersonal skills,
you will have a strong track record leading as part of an energy trading
business.

* Ability to solve a wide range of problems and issues arising across various workstream projects without being a subject-matter expert, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
* Managing & supporting decision making with incomplete data or ambiguity at times
* Technical/ technology background in trading systems landscape
* Background in project management experience
* Strong knowledge in data modelling, digitalisation, new technologies and business transformation.
