JOB SUMMARY*
Exciting summer experience opportunity to be a part of the Middle East &
Africa Communications/ PR team at Marriott International. The PR Intern will
provide assistance and support to the Marriott's MEA Communications team based
in Dubai, in day-to-day activities across the function. The PR Intern will
play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the press office through the
management of daily administrative tasks for the team.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - Education and Experience
* High School diploma or University degree
* Fluent English required (written and spoken). Arabic is beneficial, although not essential
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
* Support Annual PR Strategy. Work with the MEA Communications team to develop content and support activities, initiatives and events as required.
* Press Office. Handle media requests on behalf of the team, which includes media and influencer enquiries and accommodation requests.
* Media Relations. Learn about the media landscape in the region and work with the team to build relationships with top-tier travel/trade, business and consumer press.
* Social Media. Develop content for the MEA Communications Instagram page.
* Newsletter. Contribute content to the monthly EMEA media newsletter
* Press and Briefing Materials. Draft press releases, fact sheets, media alerts, pitches for internal and external distribution.
* PR Measurement. Measure results of PR campaigns/programmes in alignment with EMEA Continent Communications team key performance indicators (KPIs), leverage media monitoring & measurement tool for print/online.
* Reporting: Complete PR coverage and recap reports on a monthly basis.
* Team meetings/ calls: Join MEA and EMEA team weekly and monthly calls
* PR office administration and documentation. Read and review newspapers, online magazines and social media on a regular basis and share new trends with the rest of the team. Take responsibility for PR office administration and documentation.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES*
* Strong command of English - both written & spoken
* Good writing skills - press releases, PR strategies, campaign reports
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - written & spoken
* Interest in and knowledge of traditional and online media, digital influencer relations and social media
* Interest in and knowledge of current trends within travel, food and drink, hospitality industry
* Strong team player
* Able to use initiative
* A creative thinker with an eye for detail
* Willingness to learn and get involved
* High degree of personal loyalty and integrity
* Well organised and able to multi-task and prioritise
* Proficient MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Willing to participate in evening media events and functions
