Currently, we are currently looking for a passionate and energetic
Operations Manager (Domestic) to join our Road Freight Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing the annual plans and associated budgets for Domestic Road Freight operations, monitoring performance against these and initiate corrective action where necessary to ensure smooth running of operations while keeping costs within budget.
- Designing, developing and executing the road transport distribution services for various clients and grow the revenue as described in the budget annually.
- Expanding to Northern Emirates, identifying new suppliers and creating transport hubs in each of the Emirates.
- Monitoring, recommending improvements, implementing and manage appropriate policies and procedures in trucking operations including Quality, Health, Safety, Environment (QHSE), Security, local and international regulations to ensure excellent timely services are provided to Internal and External customer.
- Developing and maintaining good relationship with customers (both internal and external) and approved suppliers to safeguard Danzas' legal position and minimize damage/missing/non delivery of goods.
- Implementing necessary processes, IT enablement and latest telematics within trucking operations to optimize procedures and operational efficiencies.
- Execute fair Suppliers Management on contractual, adhoc and long term lease of fleet.
- Negotiating spot rates with approved suppliers for large movements and to ensure sell rates in line with market rates providing best solution to internal and external customers.
- Ensuring annual inspections of all the assets are carried out as per defined SOPs.
- Coordinating with all operations department to visit potential/existing customers to provide Operational / sales support during negotiations.
- Establishing good house-keeping & recording-keeping practices in trucking division of Road Freight , AFR, OFR and DSC, train staff (periodically) and ensure that these are complied with so that Danzas is in compliance with Legal/customs/Customer/company requirements at all times.
Managing capacity by ensuring that the Road Freight department is staffed with requisite numbers and caliber of staff to meet its objective, their performance is appraised and they are developed, motivated and encouraged to maximize their capabilities, productivity and contributions.
Essential Requirements
Financial revenue growth targets on a monthly basis.(As per Target)
- Ratio of Leased Vehicle Cost to Ad-hoc Vehicle hiring Cost
- Assets availability time (Vehicle and drivers) / Suppliers Performance Management.
- Claims paid due to negligence / inefficiency / misconduct of driver/staff are nill.
- Accidents due to negligence / noncompliance of safety standard while driving vehicles are nill.
§ 10 years in a managerial role with similar corporate players in the same
line of business with specific experience in Road freight.
