Based within our Strategy Consulting business line, a Business Analyst Intern
is a professional that under the supervision of more senior consultants,
conceptualizes and structures problems, performs numerical analysis and
extracts insights contributing to development of client recommendations.
A Business Analyst Intern facilitates reliable and accurate research for
client projects and proposals, conducts analysis of quantitative and
qualitative data, summarizes main ideas and findings from work through
written, graphical or oral presentations, helps facilitate discussions within
project teams and supports senior team members in the development of
intellectual capital. The following are the skillsets that we are looking for
in a candidate:
Problem solving
- Problem structuring: Conceptualizes and structures complex analyses (numerical and qualitative)
- Data gathering: Carries out primary and secondary research and leverages internal research teams when necessary
- Insight generation: Extracts insights from analysis
- Excel proficiency: Applies complex formulas and efficient in running analyses and business models
- Accuracy: Produces error free analyses and business models. Has an eye for detail in slide preparation. Ensures formatting consistency across models and slides.
Personal and Team management
- Work plan development: Keeps comprehensive to-do lists
- Time management: Identifies the time required to complete tasks and meets deadlines
- Status reporting: Identifies risks and raises red flags
- Commitment to delivery: Delivers high quality outputs within set deadlines
- Proactivity: Takes ownership of his / her tasks and learns from others
- Career development: Proactively asks for coaching and feedback and is quick to put them into practice
Communication
- Oral communication: Communicates confidently with other team members
- Presentation skills: Delivers simple presentations to other team members and contributes in presentations to low-mid level clients
- Document writing: Develops single slides with guidance and uses internal Desktop Publishing department (DTP)
- Email writing: Writes clear and well-structured emails
Meeting facilitation: Takes minutes and validates them with senior team members. Ensures all materials required for the meeting are ready (i.e.: projector, flipcharts, etc.). #LI-IL1Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors or Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Management or Strategy
- A relevant internship assuming similar responsibilities
- Previous experience in a professional services environment, ideally in a multinational company with international exposure
