Associate Professor

Job Purpose: To teach aspects of theory and practice in the area designated at
undergraduate level or professional awards level. To facilitate learning and
development of knowledge to the highest quality through teaching, research
etc. To provide academic leadership in the designated areas and demonstrate
outstanding potential in teaching and research. To participate in committees
within the College and to operate effectively as a part of an academic team.
Job Accountabilities Students - Deliver lectures in a professional way to
ensure that all the learning outcomes and objectives for each course are
achieved. Design, grade and manage exams as well as course work and projects
where applicable. - Be actively involved in developing curriculum, in order to
maintain high standard of quality education and update the syllabus to keep up
with the latest industry requirement. - Prepare and plan ahead, regularly
review the course contents to ensure that the information, examples, and
methodology used to engage the students is relevant and up to date. - Maintain
course files and other documents related to the courses. - Provide orientation
and counselling to 'Advisee' students, as allocated. - Maintain order in
classrooms by effectively managing, motivating and engaging the students.
College/ Curriculum/ Committee - Make recommendations to the HOD with
reference to curriculum development and textbooks within the designated areas.
- Participate in the Department and Academic council meetings. - Actively
participate in institutional effectiveness activities and community service
when required to do so. - Assist , prepare reports or documents as requested
by the HOD/ Manager-Academic Studies/ SVP- Academic Wing as per the directions
in force. - Participate in various college committees, and supervise teaching
assistants where applicable. Participate in the academic advising of students.
Continuous learning - Actively engage in scholarship, research and publish
papers/ articles in first class international journals. - Projects - Must be
involved with projects in consultation with HOD
Qualifications & Experience: - Human Resources/Training : ‎3+ Years - PhD (‎12+‎6
or equivalent) : Ph.D. from a well known internationally recognised
University/Academic institution with a specialisation in the subject to be
taught. - Should have delivering courses at university level of which a
minimum of ‎3 years should involve course management responsibility or
experience of teaching at Emirates Aviation College. - Demonstrable experience
in conducting research independently as well as participating in recent
International conferences. - Must have at least four new publications in
International journals. - Additional Skills Highly motivated individual
possessing strong, interpersonal, communication, organisational and management
skills, along with cultural sensitivity. - Should be change orientated and
have the proven ability to work within a multicultural and multinational
environment - Use of latest software and technology to deliver lectures. i.e
Blackboard or mood Active in research and seminar
