Position: Aircraft Armament Systems (Weapons) Instructor

Summary:
Instructors will train foreign military students in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia to produce qualified technicians in their assigned specialties who are
able to maintain aircraft systems, subsystems, support equipment, and/or
provide logistics support and expertise with little or no supervision.
Training shall provide students specialty Upgrade Training to elevate skills
from 3-level to 5-level, 5-level to 7-level, on F-15SA aircraft, GE engines,
and associated support services for the following specialty.
Instruct on the following Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Perform On-the-Job Training (OJT), administer Career Development Courses as required, and teach Field Training Detachment courses as required to upgrade RSAF 3-level technicians to 5-level and 7-level technicians and perform other related duties as assigned.
* The upgrade training will require hands-on demonstration and repair on and off the airframe or equipment as required for core and work center tasks in the Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP).
* Loads, positions, performs safing operations, and unloads munitions on aircraft. Uses handling, loading, and checkout procedures and equipment. Tests suspension, launch, and release systems for retentive locking, and manual or electrical release. Analyzes malfunctions. Performs functional checks of launch and suspension systems. Prepares munitions and inspects post loading weapons.
* Operates handling and loading equipment, and mates munitions with aircraft release, launch, and suspension systems. Loads and services aircraft gun systems. Tests electrical and electronic circuitry for continuity, voltage, and proper operation. Tests for unwanted electrical signal or power before connecting electrically actuated explosives and propellants.
* Installs ground safety devices on munitions and gun system components to prevent inadvertent detonation, launching, or firing. Inserts and removes impulse cartridges associated with fuel tanks and pylons. Adjusts and installs fuses, boosters, and delay elements in conventional munitions.
* Inspects, repairs, and maintains aircraft release, launch, suspension, and monitoring systems; aircraft guns; and related equipment. Operates, inspects, and performs operator maintenance on related munitions handling, loading, and test equipment. Examines for visual defects and proper installation of systems components such as munitions ejector racks, loading and suspension devices, shackles, rocket pods, pylons, aircraft ammunition, boosters, and feed chutes.
* Boresights and performs after-firing inspection of aircraft guns. Examines aircraft guns for defects. Analyzes malfunctions of munitions launch, release, suspension, and monitoring systems, and associated handling and loading equipment. Disassembles, repairs, or replaces mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneudraulic mechanisms of launch and release systems, and aircraft gun systems.
* Removes, disassembles, and inspects parts and subassemblies for damage, rust, corrosion, or acceptable clearances and tolerances. Adjusts and applies lubricants and preservatives. Performs serviceability tests on aircraft guns, gun systems, and munitions associated suspension equipment.
* Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.
Required educational/skills background:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum five (5) years' experience and a 7-level in armament systems maintenance.
* Previous instructor qualification highly desired.
Physical Demands:
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent
bending, reaching and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing
up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of
other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or
awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit. Normal color/depth perception
and no record of emotional instability are required.
Work Environment (ADA):
May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be
noisy at times. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and
wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing
thru a hazardous area.
