Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provide high standards of disinfection, inspection, assembly, sterilization,
storage and distribution of medical and surgical items to operating theatres
and wards in compliance with established policies and guidelines including
infection protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
* Responsible for the performance and Management of the staff, equipment, and sterilization services.
* Training and evaluating of staff in the unit.
* Sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and applicable patient care equipment according to departmental and international standards.
* Oversee the cleaning, decontamination, packing, sterilization, and delivery of a full range of surgical and medical items processed in the CSSD.
* Complying with all relevant licensing requirements and accredited bodies.
Requirements
LICENSING & EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
* Experience, knowledge, and certification in Sterilization practice.
* CSSD qualification from an accredited institution
* Nursing background will be an advantage
* Registered with the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties as a Central Sterilization
Service Department Technician in Saudi Arabia
* Licensed in your Country of origin (as applicable)
* Certification as per CBAHI requirements
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* At least 5 years postgraduate experience
* Previous CSSD Manager / Supervisor experience advantage
* Basic Computer literacy skills
* Fluent in English (speak, read, write)
* Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement for better outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
* Demonstrated in complying with the Professional Code of Ethics
* Ability to follow appropriate cost containment practices with stock controlling abilities
* Ability to enforce Infection control guidelines
* Experience of CBAHI and MOH guidelines and requirements.
