Tasks and Reasonabilities:
* Responsible for safety & discipline in the work area
* Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for container terminal operations.
* Develop, implement, and enforce adequate measures to minimize the possibilities of risks.
* Frequently conducting emergency response drills among the workers
* Supervise the operation of any potential hazards in the workplace.
* Ensure that regulations from Port Authority are followed and implemented.
* Ensure that the induction training is conducted, and safety equipment is provided to new staff & visitors.
* Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
* Provide periodic refresher training on SOPs and safety standards to Safety Champions and Operations Supervisors
* Respond to incident site immediately on receiving intimation
* Investigate workplace accidents and injuries as per the DP World Incident Management Standard.
* Conduct random checks to monitor compliance to the health, safety and environment policy.
* Conduct Risk Assessments, defining controls and creating standard operating procedures to decrease risk to employees.
* Must specialize in certain risk assessment areas and create SOPS for the same.
* Conduct rounds to check if standard operating procedures are followed.
* Responsible for the implementation of Safety and Environment management system
* Assists in the preparation of periodical reports regarding Safety situation for the DP World Jeddah Management and the Regional Office
* Implementation and Compliance with DP World HSE Pillars
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Education: Bachelor's degree/graduate in any engineering/sciences discipline
* HSE courses (e.g. NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, Industrial Safety Diploma)
* Experience in Port monitoring and safety Preferable: 1 years or more
* Experience in Safety Monitoring and training
* Preferable experience in heavy engineering industry as a safety officer
