Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) or Resident Engineer (RE),
The Inspector is responsible for site inspections, surveillance and testing of
site activities to ensure compliance with the Construction documents and
standards. Working closely with their relevant Engineer (i.e. Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical, Structural etc.), the Inspector must record and
supervise all the activities carried out by the Contractor.
* Monitors all engineering (as per discipline) aspects of the project to ensure compliance with approved standards.
* Liaises with the Site/ Senior Discipline Engineer and other Engineers and managers to provide support and guidance as required.
* Monitors and reviews the Contractor's documents/shop drawings to flag and rectify any issues which may affect the stability or function of any project components or systems.
* Monitors safety aspects when dealing with the installations.
* Provides progress reports of the various technical aspects of the project.
* Maintains registers of all submittals and testing, both on and off-site.
* Maintains full site records, including daily site diaries in an approved format and formal monthly progress photography.
* Familiar with the project's contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications and health and safety measures.
* Ensures that the Contractor/s are compliant with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.
* Responsible for daily follow up with the Contractor.
* Prepares site measurements and surveying checks in coordination with a Land Surveyor for alignments and levels.
* Maintains records of material tests performed and executed works.
* Audits inspections for conformity to contract documents and Contractor submitted plans.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Min 10 Years relevant site experience.
* Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
