Key responsibilities
* Responsible for compiling all evidence and reports involving insurance and claims and coordinating with all parties involved.
* Communicate with shipping lines with respect to container damage claims.
* Initiate/follow up all needed steps to mitigate loss if any with all relevant stakeholders.
* Initiates claim process for all damage that may be caused by external parties.
* Check and control all reports concerning claims, to be filled correctly and submitted in due time/course.
* Proactive investigation, evaluation, management, and resolution of claims.
* Clear analysis and accurate interpretation of insurance policies' coverage, notify any new risks, updates and amendments of policies to insurers.
* Send cases to legal advisors when the dispute has legal consequences.
* Apply for necessary documents required for correct handling of damage claims.
* Coordinate with expert surveys and investigation of occurrences' circumstances.
* Develop and manage relevant SOPs for efficient handling of claims.
* Coordination of investigation and processing of accidents in cooperation with HSE team.
* Ensure that all claim reports are received with necessary back-ups such as photographs, SDRs (ship stevedore damage report), statements & etc.
* Appraise whether independent surveyor is required for assessment of cargo, asset and/or any major damages.
* Update the Damages and Claims database/system and maintains various statistics.
* Analyze contractual agreements, defining obligations' limits with respect to liabilities & CPs.
* The key impact of this position will be to assist in the maintenance of operational efficiencies in the terminal through the proper handling of damage reports/Documents via an established & well documented procedure.
* The incumbents are expected to assist in the improvement of existing methodologies, processes and measurements when executing duties on an ongoing basis

We are looking for
* The candidate must have a proper university degree, Egyptian Law qualified/ English Section graduates are preferable.
* Minimum ‎6 years of relevant experience, a proper experience in transportation, logistics and terminals will be considered as a strong advantage.
* Requires good knowledge of Customs' regulations & international Conventions related to containers' transportation.
* Requires knowledge of safe working practices.
* Requires excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder's management dexterity.
* Requires some knowledge of accounting, billing, and associated documentation.
* Requires an intermediate level of understanding of insurance claims, terminology, and technical assessments as they pertain to cargo damage, property damage, etc.
* Requires knowledge of mechanical damages on vessel/containers for cost estimation.
* Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills.
* Must be experienced, familiar & comfortable with operational environment involving heavy machinery.
* Well organized, punctual, team player.
* Speaks and writes clearly in Arabic and English.
* Able to hold a position yet partnering with the business to find solutions to complex issues.
