Deadline Date ‎2022-‎06-07multi-donor action commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic
Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union (EU) and
implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit
(GIZ) GmbH. ​
The project’s component ‎1 “ Improving economic policy conditions for
growth-oriented and investment climate” supports governmental efforts in
central and south Iraq as well as Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It provides
advisory services for economic reforms to government partners and supports
fact-based policy making through promoting the inclusion of private sector
representations, academic institutions and civil society organisations into
policy-making processes. ​ Overall, this multi-donor action puts emphasis on
developing long-term abilities of its partners such as Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
The project’s component ‎2 “ Improving employment prospects in the
private sector” supports the creation of employment prospects for young
Iraqis, especially women and returnees, following an integrated approach that
combines labour market-driven skills development and job placement measures as
well as entrepreneurship development, and advisory services for MSMEs. Special
attention is given to sectors with a strong potential for growth such as
agribusiness, solar energy, waste management, and hospitality, with a regional
focus on Baghdad, Basra, Diwaniyah, Diyala, Erbil and Mosul.

Responsibilities

• Technical development and implementation of project activities related to participatory policymaking in the area of business climate improvement according to the objectives of BMZ and the EU;


• Communication and coordination with project partners and stakeholders on project activities related to participatory policymaking in the area of business climate improvement (civil society organisations, business membership organisations, and government authorities);


• Coordination with colleagues within the PSD project on the activities and contacts with partners and stakeholders.


• Documentation of activities and monitoring of results and contribution to reporting (BMZ, EU);


• Ensuring adherence to all GIZ rules and regulations.# Qualifications


• University Degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Political Sciences, or another relevant field


• another relevant field.


• Work experience in Federal Iraq with civil society organisations and/or business membership associations (such as business associations, chambers of commerce), and/or government authorities.


• Work experience in project management and stakeholder management.


• Work experience in international development cooperation organisations.


• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken); German language abilities are an asset
