Job Purpose
To identify, assess and monitor Market & Liquidity risks on a bank wide
basis.
Job Accountabilities
1. Support Head of Market & Liquidity Risk in implementing the bank wide
framework for Market & Liquidity Risk
2. Identify, assess and monitor and manage Market & Liquidity risk, limits
and controls bank wide.
3. Develop and implement risk models to quantify and monitor market and
liquidity risks. Support model development for ERM as requested by Head of
ERM.
4. Ensure proper documentation of market and liquidity risk management
procedures for the unit.
5. Review and recommend limits for managing market and liquidity risk.
Develop and manage processes for monitoring bank-wide adherence to regulatory
and internal limits & controls related to market and liquidity risks
6. Review and validate new Treasury & Capital Market products to ensure all
products are controlled by appropriate Risk engines, models and processes
7. Review investment proposals and provide risk analysis and recommendations
from a Market & Liquidity Risk perspective.
Generic
Ensure compliance with the Bank 's policies, corporate governance and risk
management processes.
Key Performance Indicators
1. Timely generation and reporting of key Market and Liquidity Risk
exposures.
2. Monitoring and reporting on regulatory and internal risk limits and
breaches
3. Develop, implement, maintain and validate risk models
4. Identify and design high quality, impactful reporting both to internal and
external stakeholders
5. Implement and monitor liquidity, interest rates and market risk scenarios
6. Comprehensive analysis and review of investment and new product proposals
7. Full compliance with bank and regulatory policies, operational procedures
and instructions, risk policies
Qualifications
Education & Qualification
Bachelor's degree in finance / banking / commerce / management / quantitative
disciplines
Knowledge
* Thorough knowledge of market & liquidity risks, Basel & CBK guidelines and their related application to assess and manage these risks
* Strong Analytical and Financial skills
Familiarity and usage experience with Financial data provider platforms of
Bloomberg, Reuters etc.
* Advanced knowledge and hands on experience with Microsoft Excel and modeling skills
* Practical knowledge of Treasury and Capital Markets products and workflows
Experience
* 5+ years in Market & Liquidity Risk Management and analysis or equivalent experience preferably within the banking sector
* Hands on experience with Murex MX3 and/or Oracle OFSAA platforms is desirable
Accreditation / Licensing
Holding at least one of the following credentials - FRM / PRM / CFA / CQF is
desirable
