We are currently seeking a Lead Materials Engineer , reporting directly to the
Engineering Manager to join the team based in Zour, KIPIC, Kuwait.
About The Role:
Chemical/Mechanical Engineer, preferably, with experience in design office and
workshop. Experience gained in welding, coatings, NDE and fabrication
processes.
Mandatory requirements:
* Good industry code understanding (NACE, ASTM, ANSI, API, BS, DIN, other International Design Codes and Major Oil Company norms & practices, etc.)
* Experience applying DeWaard-Milliams corrosion model
* FEED and detailed engineering design experience
* Good understanding and interpretation of P&IDs and capacity to contribute in P&ID development
* MSD definition experience
* Well versed in in materials selection, painting specifications, protective coatings, NDE procedures and vendor's manufacturing procedures
* Experience in estimations and preparation of ITBs
* Excellent communications skills and interaction with other disciplines, client and subcontractors
* Checks designs and drawings of design team for accuracy and conformity to technical specifications and procedures
* Promote alternative solutions for materials selection, fabrication, testing to reduce cost and time, complexity and optimize onshore work
* Experience evaluating vendor's proposals and bid documents
Software knowledge:
* Cassandra corrosion rate (or equivalent)
* MS Office proficiency
Advantageous:
* Radiographic interpretation
* Preparation of welding procedures and welding maps
* Construction experience
* PMC experience
* Experience in resolving technical queries and site related problems
Minimum years of experience:
* 12 years minimum in total years of experience.
* 8 years minimum in the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochem
* 5 years minimum in the related designation / discipline
