Description

Job Purpose
To perform the regular operations, monitoring and maintenance of host and
peripheral computer systems using standard operating procedures that deliver
application systems. Ensuring availability and optimal performance of systems,
infrastructure services and datacenter related components while following SLAs
to all branches and departments.
Job Accountabilities
Strategic
* Follow IT Operation policies and processes in-line with the business requirements.
* Engineering IT Operation practices throughout the organization using ITIL Standards.
* Maintain the proper relationship with other cross IT functions within the organization.
* Coordinate with support, core and application teams to delivery and enhance IT productivity.
* Execute solutions which are in-line with the business requirements.
Functional
• Manage bank wide IT operational activities • Monitor the status of
applications, servers and the network system
* Initiate actions to correct malfunction or operational issues
* Administer and monitor daily and monthly server operating systems
* Prepare reports and ensure optimal performance by maintaining records of service level agreements of services.
* Implement and ensure efficient maintenance and ensure compliance to all disaster recovery plans.
* Perform appropriate tests and provide training to upgrade product quality and standardize all artifacts.
* Assist technical staff to check and ensure resolution of all issues to achieve all objectives.
* Administer all spheres of physical planning, provide security and backup for recovering systems.
* Determine availability of systems and IT network application process.
* Maintain and prepare all paperwork for various activities and provide performance backup to retrieve data in case of emergency.
* Participate and manage all communication in a technical direction and with initiatives
* Monitor all communication for each customer to assess operations within timeframe.
* Administer and provide upgrade to systems and escalate issues.
* Prepare designs and evaluate all balancing functions as required by IT departments and other functional areas.
* Escalate issues to precise levels where required
* Install software in production and DR/UAT environments including complete setup
* Ensure all releases are made in line with the Change Management Process
* Ensure all backups are carry out on time with housekeeping tasks
* Carry out process improvement in conjunction with core team
* Ensure all audit (internal and external) tasks are closed and risks are high lightened in a timely manner
* Timeliness maintenance and troubleshooting, promptness in communication updates/repair
* L2 troubleshooting of servers, networks and IPT devices, maintenance of DC facility
* Effective monitoring of infrastructure in terms of both performance and security
* Timely patching of all servers and workstations
* Granting and revoking email access on mobile devices (Tablets\phones)
* Creation and maintenance of automated jobs (EOD)
* Commissioning and decommission of servers
* Maintaining OS and application functionality in compliance with security levels
* Ensuring all CRs are implemented
People Management
* Extensive cooperation, interaction and coordination with all levels of Gulf Bank employees - from developers to board members - across various departments of operation and all Lines of Business.
* Actively foster and maintain relationships with key constituents.
* Build consensus and be able to negotiation within Governance and internal partners.
General
* Ensure all Company and Department policies and procedures are followed.
* Follows IT standards & defined processes and policies for workflow using a systematic approach, to complete assigned tasks.
* Ensure positive service image in the user community.
* Manage several projects concurrently.
* Manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Work both conceptually and "hands on" as situation warrants.
* Juggle multiple priorities with constantly changing technical and support requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
IT Security
* Implement and act in accordance with the organization's information security policies.
* Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
* Execute particular security processes or activities.
* Ensure responsibility is assigned to the individual for actions taken.
* Follow guidelines provided by CBK, internal and external audits.
* Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization

Qualifications

Education & Qualification
* Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an equivalent
Knowledge
* Good understanding of Network, VoIP, IT Infrastructure, Software Development and Systems.
* Core knowledge on BMC Control-M or any automation tool.
* In-depth initiation and troubleshooting on Networker.
* Familiarity with system and network monitoring tools.
* Performance tuning and maintenance of monitoring applications.
* Good knowledge on SQL server and command on SQL queries.
* Good command on PowerShell, VB and Python.
Experience
* Minimum ‎5 years' experience in a related field.
* Technical knowledge of network, operating systems (Windows\Linux\Solaris) and Virtualization.
* Technical knowledge on infrastructure storage.
* Ability to work in shifts.
* Hands-on experience in multitasking relating to calls and email communications.
Accreditation / Licensing
* Microsoft, Linux, Solaris and VMware certification
* ITIL Certified
