Job Description
Job Summary
The position is responsible for obtaining pre-approval for the medications,
follow up and coordinates with all concerned parties to run the operation
effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact insurance companies to verify patient’s insurance eligibility,
benefits and requirements.
Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies within
time allotted for medical and services.
Request, follow up and secure prior-approvals prior to services being
performed.
Communicate any insurance changes or trends among team.
Update patients with prior authorization outcomes (approvals/denials).
Follow up with the patients for insurance approval.
Maintains a level of productivity suitable for the department.
Responsible for accurate and timely data entry in accordance with workflow
requirements.
Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel
in standardized documentation requirements, including proper format.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Diploma/Degree from a reputed College/University.
At least 5 years’ experience preferably in medical facilities.
Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, process, and
procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient with MS Office and standard hospital database technology.
