Patient Access Manager
About the job
This role involves overseeing the daily operations and functions of the
hospital's patient access services. It includes managing scheduling,
admissions, registration (inpatient and outpatient), emergency room
registration (available 24/7), discharge processes, and patient financial
management, ensuring smooth integration with the hospital's primary functions.
Job Responsibilities
Division Strategy, Budgets, and Plans:
Assist in RCM budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and plan
manpower requirements for improvement opportunities.
Utilize resources to reduce wastages and control unnecessary expenses.
Systems and Processes:
Develop policies, systems, and processes for exceptional service.
Implement new procedures to improve work quality and quantity, ensuring
compliance with laws.
HSE and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with HSE and risk management policies for a safe hospital
environment.
Succession Planning and People Management:
Select and develop successors through training and hands-on experience.
Maintain updated job descriptions, utilize the Performance Management System
for goal setting and reviews.
Patient Access Management:
Lead modernization of Patient Access, track metrics, and implement action
plans.
Prepare reports on patient data, stay informed of regulatory changes, and
recommend tools.
Patient Access Daily Operations:
Oversee scheduling, insurance verification, patient financial management, and
compliance with standards.
Collaborate with Medical, Nursing, and Accounting Services for efficient
patient placement and revenue cycle management.
Confidentiality:
Ensure discretion in patient transactions and maintain confidentiality
regarding patient account status.
Practice confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the Patient Access
function.
Education
4-Year University Degree from a recognized university, preferably in
Accounting or Business Management.
Relevant certification in Revenue Cycle Management or Master’s Degree
preferred.
12 to 15 years of experience in revenue cycle or hospital access management
with a minimum of 10 in a managerial position, preferably in an acute hospital
setting.
Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel)
Experience
Acute Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, billing and insurance regulations,
medical terminology, insurance benefits and appeal processes.
Knowledge of Utilization Management as it relates to continuum of care for
inpatients.
Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle models, budgeting and forecasting.
Knowledge of reimbursement regulations and compliance issues of third-party
payers.
Proficient in Arabic and English (speaking and writing)
