Category Manager
About the job
We are a startup company involved in the B2C distribution of food items and
groceries with a vision to expand in all GCC markets. We are looking to hire a
Category Manager responsible for business partnering across a particular
division and providing commercial support to the business.
Your Responsibilities
Sourcing suppliers, services, and resources needed, negotiating costs with
other suppliers.
This role will also be responsible for managing and developing strong
relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other partners to drive business
objectives
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
Process purchase orders, resolve invoicing issues, and ensure timely delivery
Assist the Category Manager in selecting, pricing, and positioning category
products.
Analyze customer data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth
Developing and implementing marketing strategies for specific products or
brands
Monitoring competitor activity in order to identify opportunities for growth
in sales or market share
Understand and execute on the company’s category vision and strategy
Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives related to the category
Develop and manage promotional plans and budgets for the category
Manage inventory levels to maximize sales and profitability
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management
Attend trade shows and events to stay up-to-date on industry trends
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed
Desired Requirements
Must have at least 5 to 7 years of Retail or FMCG in category management,
product management
Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines
Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
Highly organized
Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
