About the job
Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Investment.
Professional qualification such as Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC),
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA) or similar.
Minimum of ‎16 years of experience within the financial and investment field.
Minimum of ‎7 years in the Senior level.
Proficient in English and Arabic.
Key Accountabilities:
Guide the development and execution of the Finance & Investment Directorate's
strategy in alignment with KFAS's short, medium, and long-term goals.
Develop and track the Directorate’s primary goals, short-term and long-term
strategic objectives, KPIs, and business plans in line with KFAS’s overall
strategy in collaboration with SPE and ensure employees are working towards
the achievement of these objectives.
Develop the annual workplan in accordance with the established KPIs in
collaboration with the SPE.
Oversee the implementation and amendments made to the chart of accounts and
financial accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant accounting
standards (IFRS, local GAAP) and other local statutory requirements.
Review month-end and year-end Trial Balances, to ensure the accurate
compilation of management reports and annual financial statements, obtain
justifications behind variations in high moving accounts or reasoning for
using new accounts and other irregularities.
Review year-end adjusting entries and inquire with subordinates to understand
reasoning behind complex and/or high-value entries impacting the financial
statements, addressing on a high-level revenue, expenses, accruals,
prepayments, depreciation, related party transactions or other intricacies to
confirm accurate reflection of the KFAS’s financial statement and management
reports.
Coordinate with the External and Internal auditors to resolve any major
observations or significant audit adjustments and ensure accurate and timely
information is provided by the Directorate for the compilation of the annual
audited financial statements and internal audit reports.
Lead the development of a planning framework aligned to KFAS’ initiatives and
support its overall implementation into each of KFAS’s Directorates.
Design effective financial control frameworks within KFAS, ensuring effective
use of operational expenses and adherence to budget and financial planning.
Review the breakdown of expenditures for each Section and Unit within Finance
& Investment Directorate, approve each of their budgets, and ensure that
reasonable provision is made for all relevant activities.
Assist the Director General and the Board in identifying diversified funding
options, i.e., investments and managing contributions from the shareholding
companies, for the long-term sustainability and growth of KFAS.
