We are now recruiting Dental Nurses to our clinics. Your role will include
clinical assessment, to ensure the best possible patient care to those who
contact our service with dental health enquiries and needs. These roles will
ensure we offer expert dental advice to our patients and support to our
existing operational staff working within our clinics.
Main duties of the job:
· Accompany the patient from the reception area to the treatment
room/cashier's office and vice versa (for appointments and payments, etc.)
· Responsible for taking care, maintaining, cleaning, and ensuring that
machine and equipment in the assigned clinic is working properly.
· Prepares people, self, case, equipment, instrument, and materials before
seating the patient
· Checks patient information (i.e. medical history) prior to endorsing to the
dentist (screens for Red Alerts on Patient's health), and acts on any
significant information accordingly.
· Takes necessary diagnostic aids as required (BP, OPG, periapical x-rays,
impression-taking, etc.)
· Report’s equipment or instrument damage/failure for repair and/or
maintenance to team leaders or senior nurse
· Ensures that the clinic supply & stock are replenished, sufficient,
complete, and unexpired
· Handles monthly request and inventory report of consumables for the assigned
clinic/area
· Prepares non-consumable and equipment inventory report of the assigned area
(typically once a year or more)
· Provides chair-side assistance to dentists in all treatment procedures
(mixing cements, impression materials, others)
· Handles suctioning of oral fluids without blocking the dentist’s view or
slowing down treatment
· Operates equipment and machinery related to dental treatment (i.e. dental
chair, amalgamator, implant machine, etc.)
· Gives post-operative instructions to patients
· Maintains cleanliness and asepsis of treatment areas in clinic
· Assist with other duties as needed (i.e. mobile clinic, sterilization areas,
x-rays)
· Management of common emergencies that occur before, during, & after dental
treatments (e.g. bleeding, fainting, anxiety)
· Applies knowledge of, and is compliant to, Infection Control Policies and
Procedures (PPE, Disinfectants, hand washing, etc.)
