Job Role:
The Lead Landscape Architect will lead the Landscape Architectural Design
team, plan (including budget and resources schedules), organize, coordinate
and execute the design work on projects of all scales under the direct
supervision of an Associate Director or designated senior team member.
Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the Landscape Architectural Design process under the direction
of the relevant Associate Director and refine the design on a technical level.
Manage BIM model and drawing production (design brief compliance, completeness
& accuracy).
Design coordination within Architecture & cross discipline.
Consider design brief compliance, coordination, completeness and accuracy in
design delivery.
Client engagement to present design output or progress.
Value Engineering of technical solution to meet project KPI’s, when required.
Provide construction services support in terms of answering RFI and site
visits when required.
Mentor of reporting team in the delivery of design and technical output.
Act as Lead reviewer on complex projects to drive quality assurance through
QA/QC process.
Adopt creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop
appropriate research and documentation to support technical solutions.
Manage accuracy and quality of discipline BIM model information, presentation,
and coordination.
Manage Team and other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common
design & BIM model development tasks.
Manage the preparation and compilation of design presentations and reports.
Lead team and Client meetings.
Provide technical support to site supervision teams and resolve design related
issues on site.
Coordinate and develop responses to 3rd Party review comments, tender queries,
contractor’s queries, etc.
Responsible for making technical decisions regarding resolution of clashes
between disciplines.
Contribute, from the onset of a project to the design of innovative and
progressive design solutions that reconcile client’s goals and priorities
while fostering opportunities for design excellence.
Perform or direct material and building system research and participate in the
co-ordination and preparation of relevant specifications.
Apply and reinforce standard designs and products across deliverables.
Professional Skills and Experience:
Proven related professional experience in an architectural practice or
landscape design studio.
Experience of working on large scale projects including site experience.
Proficient architectural and landscape design skills with understanding of the
design process and interfaces between design disciplines.
Good awareness of Autodesk Revit, proficiency in Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks,
presentation software and managing projects in a BIM environment.
Awareness of Industry BIM standards, processes and general approaches.
Experience to extract, manipulate, validate and present BIM model information
as required in client meetings/presentations.
Excellent architectural and landscape design skills complimented by good hand
sketching skills in order to show ideas and concepts.
Excellent understanding of space planning, public realm and functional
adjacencies.
Developed skills in the use a variety of software / media in the development,
presentation and documentation design.
Proficient at researching materials and learning about properties & potential
applications as well as installation / construction sequence requirements so
they can be integrated into the design and information can be noted in depth
on the drawings and specifications.
Capable of reviewing and editing a set of quality specifications.
Full understanding of Safety in Design requirements and able to develop the
principals with the design team.
