Job Introduction
BBC Arabic is the largest of the BBC's forty language services providing
multimedia content on BBC platforms and through social media to our Arabic
speaking audiences in the Middle East, Gulf and across the world 24 hours per
day, seven days a week.
Our output is contemporary in style and outlook and adheres to BBC Values of

Main Responsibilities
* Researching and securing the most appropriate interviewees and guests for news programmes as well as preparing research and background briefings for presenters and programme teams.
* Finding high profile guests to enhance the impact of Arabic news offering.
* Developing and maintaining an extensive and up-to-date database of contacts (particularly Arabic speaking analysts, guests, experts and others) that covers different areas of expertise across the world.
* Ensuring that BBC strategy on diversity is respected in all our programmes and news offering.
* Attending editorial meetings and taking part in informal discussions, offering creative well-researched ideas for guests and contributors.
* Providing all necessary information on guests and contributors needed by output teams, ensuring that the appropriate details are entered into the relevant systems, and that requirements are made known to Graphics and other teams as necessary.
* Meet and greet guests and contributors coming to BBC premises. When their contribution is complete, you will ensure that they are assisted off the premises and that any other necessary arrangements have been made for them.
* Working with production teams in the studio / gallery to ensure that live interviews / DTLs / phonos appear at the appropriate time in the programme, amending running orders as appropriate and with required speed and accuracy.
* Working closely with Output, Newsgathering, Planning and Satellite teams providing appropriate information and helping with logistics as required.
* Filling payment sheets on the system and following up with the payment teams.
Are you the right candidate?
* A good command and up-to-date knowledge of spoken and written modern standard Arabic, as first or equivalent language
* A good knowledge of English, including complete comprehension of written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively
