We have an opportunity for a Automation Engineer - PLC & BMS to join our
Honeywell Building Technologies Team in Cairo, Egypt.
The Automation Engineer - PLC & BMS will manage and execute BMS & PLC work
packages and technicians also will be responsible for the design, engineering,
validation, programming, graphic screens for Building Management (BMS) and PLC
Systems in accordance with the project specifications and time frame,
engineering adopted codes and good engineering practices.
Automation Engineer* - PLC & BMS Responsibilities
* BMS and PLC engineering to deliver the SOW deliverables.
* Support to increase the team technical, business & skills especially for junior employees.
* Provide technical support as much as needed.
* Assess and raise risks and issues.
* Early engagement in bidding phases for BMS & PLC projects.
* Attend technical workshops with clients and consultant when needed.
* Oversee production and quality control of produced work.
* Review BMS and HVAC systems all technical drawings, documents, products, components, application and any revisions thereon.
* Verify all the required design of BMS/PLC control systems (i.e. control schematic, system architecture, I/O points lists, BOQ, cable management system design, wiring and termination drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, Shop drawings, Operation and Maintenance manuals, and other project documentation ... etc.).
* Verify selection of material and equipment according to the calculations and the project specifications.
* Ensure compliance with standard.
* Able to develop and Implement high level integrations between the systems.
* Preferred to have good knowledge with fire alarm system.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in an Engineering discipline; Electrical, or Mechanical.
* ‎7+ years of experience in Automation Engineering PLC/BMS.
* Experience with executing fire alarm is preferred.
* Advanced Understanding of HVAC process, Building Automation, Energy Management, or LV systems.
* Good knowledge and understanding of Honeywell products and software (EBI) is preferred.
* Good understanding of datacentre infrastructure and network communication systems.
* Good understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings and symbols.
* Ability to analyze system drawings and schematics.
* Advanced knowledge of standard communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and SNMP.
* Good knowledge of web-services and APIs is a plus.
* Familiar with different systems databases (SQL, Postgre. …etc.).
* Good understanding of the financial aspects of engineering.
* Experience in providing Control Systems building services including design, maintenance, installation, and repair.
* Good IT Skills for network troubleshooting, software installation, and configuration of servers as well as workstations.
* Exceptional PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft software, databases.
