The opportunity
Project: This is a mixed-use project in the heart of Egypt.
We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking candidate to join our
established and growing team in Egypt.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems.
* Managing, estimating, and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
* Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection, and contract preparation are performed effectively.
* Ensuring that post-contract cost variances, change control, cost checking, and valuation processes are managed effectively.
* Ensuring the production of monthly cost reports and presenting them to the client.
* Providing value engineering and life cycle costing.
* Managing the final account negotiation and agreement.
* Interfacing with clients, and external and internal consultants at all project stages.
* Producing and maintaining accurate cost and cash forecasts in alignment with the cost breakdown structure.
* Maintaining accuracy in all cost data for the programme within the financial control system (EcoSys), including monthly ACWP calculations.
* Coordinating and producing cost reports to a defined reporting cycle.
* Assisting in the trend and change process, including production of project change reports, analysis of cost impact, and provision of feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
* Reviewing, acceptance, and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by tier 1 contractors and suppliers.
* Assisting with analysis of earned value.
* Adhering to project governance and cost standards and procedures.
About you
You have a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction,
quantity surveying, or another related field, you have an understanding of
cost management methodologies and techniques, and you are a member of a
professional body, such as RICS, CIOB. You have experience on a major
construction project. You can build lasting client relationships and provide
support to strong, motivated teams. You have proven relevant experience in
project management or in a similar cost role in a construction or consultancy
background.
