Project Description:*
The WESE program is designed to engage, leverage, and partner with the
private sector as well as public social service initiatives to encourage
women's participation in the workforce; generate demand for financial
services; promote tailored, market-based solutions to women's economic
empowerment; and strengthen GBV prevention and response such that women become
more economically and socially resilient.
WESE activities integrate, mutually reinforcing private and public sector-
led approaches that aim to change power relationships, transform
structures, and build agency to effect results along critical change
pathways. The program interventions are designed to lead women in priority
governorates feeling safe, valued, and empowered at work; motivated and able
to embrace financial autonomy; and respected and free from violence in their
homes, communities, and workplaces.
The program works closely with market -based partners to develop,
lead, scale, sustain, and champion innovative solutions, recognizing the
economic AND social benefits of gender-inclusive, empowering policies and
practices.
Job Summary:
The GBV advisor will play a key role in ensuring that objective 3 of the WESE
Project "Reducing the socio-economic impact of violence against women is
achieved. GBV prevention and response mechanisms are a main component with
activities across the different pillars of the WESE project. The GBV advisor
will work closely with the Social Empowerment Team Leader to plan, strategize,
network and implement a comprehensive GBV prevention and response work plan.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
* Conduct regular needs assessments measuring knowledge of GBV in targeted communities and private sector companies within project catchment areas.
* Supervise the creation and execution of WESEP 's communications strategy with a main GBV prevention component targeting social and behavior change.
* Work closely with government counterparts (NCW, NCCM, MoSS), to ensure services, campaigns, and knowledge are regularly shared and mainstreamed.
* Work closely with private sector companies on PSEA policies (protection of sexual exploitation and abuse) at the workplace.
* Ensure that all project capacity building programmes have a clear GBV prevention component as a main or a cross-cutting theme.
* Contribute to GBV prevention services and response, referral mechanisms and pathways strengthening activities, with creative and context relevant interventions.
* Conduct regular coordination meetings with relevant government, civil society, INGOs, UN agencies on GBV response coordination.
Required Qualifications:
*
Master 's degree or a diploma, in gender/women's studies, social work,
sociology, international development, or other relevant fields;
* 5 to 7 years of professional work experience in programmatic and technical experience in gender, social work, including experience with GBV programming (i.e. training, designing curricula/manuals, evaluation/research, and/or program design).
* Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of gender programing to prevent GBV or promote gender equality.
* Experience facilitating gender trainings and workshops with focus on GBV prevention.
* Proven ability serving in an advisory and liaison capacity between the public and private sector; as well as civil society.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and maintaining professional working relationships with government officials, civil society partners, INGOs, and UN agencies.
* Demonstrated ability to support a diverse team in different activities.
* Familiarity with US Government-funded programming, rules and regulations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Proven written and oral presentation skills in English and Arabic required.
* Competent in composing, editing, and proofreading work plans, strategies, reports.
* Proven stakeholders management, networking and alliance building capacities.
* Strong communication skills.
Effort, Reporting and Other Administrative Requirements:
The (GBV Advisor ) is a full-time position that reports to Social Empowerment
Team Leader and will coordinate on all programmatic aspects of his/her
employment, including but not limited to job description, duties,
qualifications, working environment, and performance. The (GBV Advisor) will
be based in (Cairo), Egypt.
Working environment:
This position will interact with the WESEP team, WESEP partners, GOE
counterparts, stakeholders. Required to travel to various locations within
Egypt, specifically WESEP defined governorates.
