The Position
Within DSM Nutritional Products Animal Nutrition and Health we are currently
looking for a SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) Engineer for our new
site at Sadat City, Egypt.
Your responsibilities include:
* Ensures every day through a visible "on the floor" presence and support at different workplaces that the site is managed in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner, by complying with all DSM SHE requirements and other relevant requirements and best practices as dictated by local law.
* Encourages employees and site management to improve SHE results and prevent incidents:
* Supports and enforces the policy on the floor of reporting incidents, possible SHE incidents and improvement possibilities and checks that the work is routinely risk assessed.
* Leads site incidents investigations, defines with the site management possible improvements.
* Acts in such a way that the site learns from incidents. Manages the communication within the site learning from incidents received regional/global.
* Perform follow-up and review of accidents (action plans) and all near miss cases recorded on site.
* Enforce compliance of the site with DSM SHE requirements, work processes and other SHE rules and regulations, comply with local laws regulations.
* Gives support to the site management to make sure that the competences of the employees are sufficient to let them do their task in a SHE responsible way at their workplaces. Provides the necessary SHE trainings.
* Makes sure that all procedures and instructions for the job are workable from SHE perspectives and followed by SHE trainings, routinely observing and auditing employees on the pitch.
* Makes sure that/encourages the staff working on site to be in compliance with SHE requirements and legislation.
* Follows SHE targets and SHE Key Performance Indicators and ensure adequate management reporting of the SHE performance of the site.
* Makes sure that the SHE objectives, -plans and -requirements are communicated and understood on site by all employees.
* Set-up SHE plans in line with regional plans.
* Supports involvement of employees on site setting up and reviewing SHE-plans and -requirements, -procedures and -instructions.
* Leads the annual SHE reviews of the site.
* Manage the MOC (management of change) process according to the site procedure and organization and manage the implementation of SHE innovations and improvement. Manage SHE topics of projects.
* Provide SHE technical support to the production management and to customers via sales department on request.
* Contribute to the improvement of the overall performance of the Premix plant by participating in the Plant Management Team.
* Provide support during external SHE audits executed on site.
* Provide technical & behavioral SHE leadership/support to the site Management.
* Manages the site security of the site.
You will report directly to the Site Manager
The Ideal
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environment or Safety, etc. or relative engineering.
* Good written and oral expression in Arabic and English
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
* Knowledge in SHE requirements and relevant local laws and regulations.
* Leadership / Result Orientation / Persuasiveness / Oral Communication / Coaching /Teamwork / Judgment / Operational management leadership / team-player
