Assignment Editor- El Saha
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking an Assignment
Editor to organize forces, manage the stories assignments, and streamline
production logistics. To be Elsaha's contact person with Cairo office Business
Manager and to give the required administrative support to the team there. The
position is located in Cairo, Egypt.
The Assignment Editor is responsible for Coordinating daily workflow with
Editor in Charge and content lead in the shift and with Cairo and VA team to
make the best production.
The Incumbent will coordinates with Cairo Business manager for all logistics
and correspondences, and with the Editor in charge and Social Media lead on
what social media stories and photography to cover and assign/dispatch
resources.
The Assignment Editor will keep news staff apprised of breaking news and
changes in assignments, and will Effectively lead, mentor, and serve as a
senior multimedia producer resource within the team.
The Incumbent will demonstrate strong production judgment & sound editorial
judgment and will ensure compliance with the Journalistic Code of Ethics of
MBN.
Candidates are required to have:
* At least a B.A., preferably in Journalism, or any relevant media or production field.
* Ability to edit and create video content.
* Not less than 5 years of professional writing experience, preferably in news or feature writing.
* Mastery of Arabic, English, and ability to write for the digital environment effectively in Arabic.
* Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Google, YouTube.
* Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 broadcast environment.
