POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Amideast Egypt seeks an Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
Instructor for a program that focuses on the recruitment and capacity
development of the differently enabled in Egypt.
The ICT Instructor will deliver interactive and engaging content for different
groups, approved by Amideast. S/he will also follow Amideast training
methodology bringing a learner-centered, interactive approach which focuses on
accessibility, and collaborative learning, to adapt to professional needs. It
is preferred for the instructor to have experience teaching the differently
enabled.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The objective of this position is to instruct program trainees in the area of
Information and Communications Technology, in order to improve their
technological literacy through teaching them about the principles of
technology and how to use basic information technology tools in their work and
lives.
Tasks and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to,
the following:
* Teach trainees and learners to use computers.
* Instruct trainees on how computers work, including the basic science and mathematics behind their operation and the hardware and the software built on those foundations.
* Teach Microsoft and Microsoft Office Suite
* Support trainees in setting up emails and train them on different communication channels.
* Ensure that all lessons taught are engaging and stimulating taking into account individual needs of the trainees
* Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experience
* Complete all teaching-related administrative tasks to specified standards including:
* Develop detailed lesson plans
* Maintain accurate and complete records of trainees' progress and development
* Maintain accurate and complete records of trainees' attendance
* Prepare tests, examination papers, and exercises
* Revise, write and produce supplementary materials, including audio and visual resources
* Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
* Adapt a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
* Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet trainees' varying needs
* Use relevant technology to support instruction
* Observe and evaluate trainees' performance and development
* Assign and review class work, tests, and assignments
* Provide appropriate feedback on trainees' progress
* Monitor trainees progress and provide regular feedback throughout the academic year while actively promoting learner autonomy.
* Manage trainees' behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
* Participate in department meetings
* Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
* Attend and contribute to teacher development training sessions
By the end of this training, participants should be able to:
* Understand how to use ICT in a professional environment
* Effectively use the Microsoft Office Suite to complete work-related tasks
* Effectively use features of email and other ICT tools for work-related communication
