Tile Mason

Key Responsibilities:
* Surface Preparation:
* Evaluate and prepare surfaces for tile installation, ensuring they are clean, level, and structurally sound.
* Remove existing materials such as old tiles, adhesive, or grout.
* Tile Installation:
* Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas, using hand tools or tile cutters.
* Lay out tile patterns, ensuring alignment and uniformity.
* Apply adhesive materials and set tiles in place with precision.
* Grouting:
* Mix and apply grout between tiles to fill gaps and seal joints.
* Clean excess grout and polish tiles to achieve a finished appearance.
* Precision and Detail:
* Pay attention to details such as tile spacing, alignment, and aesthetics.
* Ensure that tiles are set according to design plans and specifications.
* Material Knowledge:
* Stay informed about various types of tiles, adhesives, grouts, and other materials.
* Recommend appropriate materials for specific projects.
* Safety and Compliance:
* Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
* Comply with industry standards and building codes.
* Tools and Equipment:
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as tile saws, trowels, spacers, and levels.
* Keep tools in good working condition and report any issues.
* Client Interaction:
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.
* Provide recommendations and advice on tile selection and design.
* Team Collaboration:
* Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects, designers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
* Problem-Solving:
* Identify and address any challenges or issues that may arise during the tile installation process.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Tile Mason or similar role with any facility company.
* Proficiency in tile installation techniques and industry best practices.
* Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouts.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design plans.
* Physical fitness and dexterity for handling tools and materials.
* Strong attention to detail and precision.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Certification:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or vocational training.
* Certification in tile installation is a plus.
