Laboratory Chemist/Technician* *

Chemical Engineer / Science Graduate Chemistry as Major Job Description:

A. Powder Coating Line a€" Chemical Pretreatment :-

**‎1. Metal subject for powder coating process are cleaned and undergo

chemical conversion process prior to powder coating process.
‎2. The process involves various stages of chemical treatment of metal,
chemical conversion of the metal surface, rinses and passivation.
‎3. The job of Lab chemist or Lab Technician is to maintain the bath in term
of its chemical strength as per chemical supplier's recommendation.
‎4. It includes bath preparation, bath checking periodically and chemical
replenishment.
‎5. Also, some bath need to be maintained at certain temperature, this
should be monitored and maintained.
‎6. The pre-treatment process uses a number of water rinses. Hence water
quality and water overflow to be maintained.
‎7. Keep record of bath condition and chemical consumption.**

B. Powder Coating Process: -

**‎1. Powder coating, is thermosetting process of Polyester, Epoxy powder

sprayed over the object using electrostatic charging powder spraying gun,
widely used for finishes of Aluminium and Steel.
‎2. The process involves Metal jigging, Powder Coating, heating and curing
in an oven, de jigging, checking and packing.
‎3. The job of Lab Chemist or Lab Technician is to monitor working of curing
oven and test powder curing achievement and physical properties of powder
coated material against set norms.
‎4. The checks and test to be performed at regular intervals and proper
record to be maintained for future reference.
‎5. Be familiar with ISO and QualiCoat and QualAnod requirement and
procedures.
‎6. Maintain daily log book and records.
‎7. Maintain Lab and its equipment.**

C. Anodizing Process:-

‎1. A process **that electrolytically coat a metallic surface

with a protective or decorative oxide. The anodic coating consists of hydrated
aluminum oxide and is considered resistant to corrosion and abrasion.
‎2. The process consists of metal pre-treatment, Anodizing, Electro-Coloring
and sealing.
‎3. The process also involves water rinses.
‎4.The job of Lab chemist or Lab Technician is to maintain the bath in term
of its chemical strength as per chemical supplier's recommendation.
‎5. It includes bath preparation, bath checking periodically and chemical
replenishment.
‎6. Also, some bath need to be maintained at certain temperature, this
should be monitored and maintained.
‎7.The Anodizing process uses a number of water rinses. Hence water quality
and water overflow to be maintained.**

D. Water Management and Treatment:-

‎1. It is everybody's obligation and duty to efficiently use available water
and its resources.
‎2. At the same time take care of waste water generating from the industrial
process.
‎3. The candidate must be knowing Water Management and Treatment techniques
and requirement.
‎4. The candidate must be familiar with the operation of water purifying
machines and effluent treatment machine.
‎5. Also, the candidate must be familiar with maintaining the water used in
Boilers and Cooling Process.
‎6. Monitor and record water consumption and optimize its uses.
‎7. Be familiar with ISO and Environmental protection requirement and
procedure.

**E. Working Experience: Minimum ‎5 years working experience in the

specified field.
Gulf experience is an added point. Reading and writing in English language
is a must.**
