PAE is supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing
specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under
the Criminal Division's International Criminal Investigative Training and
Assistance Program (ICITAP). https://www.justice.gov/criminal-icitap
ICITAP is a cornerstone of America's global strategy for combating
transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons,
establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries.
PAE is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas
Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
PAE is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as an English Language
Advisor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The incumbent will be responsible for
assisting in the development of a structured English-as-a-Foreign-Language
program that addresses the linguistic needs of adult learners (cadets) working
in a security/law enforcement capacity. The goal of this program is to
increase the cadets' English language skills to enable them to successfully
and effectively communicate and interact with English-speaking international
tourists. The incumbent is responsible for facilitating a sequenced curriculum
that develops and refines listening comprehension, oral expression, reading,
writing, and thinking skills in the English language. The incumbent will be
responsible for assessing the progress of individual learners as well as
overall program effectiveness and for initiating program improvements, should
the improvements become necessary. Incumbent will be responsible for following
best practices, including those for immersive studies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plan lessons based on learner needs, career and learning goals, and/or the established core outcomes of the course
* Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with learners, organizing learning resources, and the learning environment
* Establish and enforce rules for class management and learner expectations
* Provide learner-centered, interactive instruction that promotes communication in English
* Instruct through lessons, workshops, and role-play scenarios using tablets, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement lessons
* Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and styles of learners
* Develop and conduct ongoing learner assessment
* Receive, assess, and incorporate feedback into course material from program leads, subject matter experts, and learners
* Assist with contract compliance requirements, to include keeping accurate records in areas of professional development, attendance, retention, documentation, and assessment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), or a related education field.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of best practices in both inclusive education and adult learning methods
* Knowledge of immersive language programs
* Knowledge of digital learning tools and the ability to select teaching methods appropriate for industry and audience
* Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology in instruction
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with learners, faculty, staff, and the public
* Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information, records, and reports
* Ability to interact with a variety of personalities and diplomatically resolve issues
* Multicultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to diversity in all forms
* Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or be able to obtain a favorable US Government clearance is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract. Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Possession of a U.S. Passport.
* Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
* Citizenship: Must be able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued security clearance. Possession of a valid U.S. Passport.
* Medical: Successfully complete medical fit for duty.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree or certificate in TESOL or TEFL related area
* Minimum of ‎5 years teaching experience in an intensive English program or an academic English preparation program
* Prior work experience with law enforcement and/or in a military environment
* Ability to orchestrate engaging distance learning experiences
* Ability to work positively and effectively with learners from diverse language, cultural, and educational backgrounds, particularly from Arabic-speaking countries
* Knowledge of Arabic
