About the role
As we continue to grow in Saudi Arabia, we are now looking for a Finance
Manager for Saudi Arabia and Northern Gulf Region. This role is accountable
for overseeing the finance function and promoting strategic, long-term growth
in accordance with the Division's business plan. The Division is part of a $‎75
million GBP business spread across eight trading entities in the Middle East.


The role assists the Middle East Unit by providing high-quality financial
information and analysis to the Unit to help them make decisions. Responsible
for ensuring organisational regulatory compliance, providing business support
services within accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring Mott
MacDonald adheres to local and global financial regulations.


Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
* Support the Country Manager in day-to-day management of the Divisions ' operations - views, opinions, information, data, meetings, projects. Drive performance partnering with the territory teams to ensure KPI's are being met or exceeded.
* Driving the financial aspects of the Division strategy and performance.
* Management of Division statutory entities from a financial compliance perspective.
* Key role in the annual business planning cycle, responsible for producing the Division's annual budget and quarterly forecasts to drive business strategy and performance.
* Provide financial advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions
* Produce the Division's monthly report and in doing so, identify for action:
* operational issues impacting Division performance
* material income and cost variances that need to be actioned to improve project or Division profit
* material project losses or deteriorations in project profit.
* improvements needed in project working capital to optimise cost recovery, cash receipts and liquidity
* material contractual issues or problematic claims for additional fees.
* Overview of Division credit management performance. Knowledge of Division KPIs, material issues and areas to address to improve cash flow.
* Review Division service costs - basis, allocation, and recovery. Aim to demonstrate value for money and ensure all budgets challenged ready for DGM review and approval.
* Ensure cost models are robust and effectively managed
* Explore opportunities for automation and use of digital tools in the division.
* Coordinate elements of financial due diligence and integration of acquisitions as and when needed
* Work with Unit Finance Manager to maintain oversight and management of talent and development in the divisional finance team.
* Manage and influence accountants to develop common working group - practices, processes etc. Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the Division.
* Oversight and support finance team to mentor and develop finance talent across the Division in accounts. Proactively participate in recruitment, staff reviews, staff development and succession planning.
Candidate Specification
* Chartered Financial qualification with a business improvement mindset
* Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, developing strong working relationships with stakeholders, recognized as a trusted advisor and business partner
* Advanced financial and accounting skills and basic commercial skills are a pre-requisite, working knowledge of cross border trading, statutory environment, and tax advantageous
* Advanced analytical skills and critical thinking skills. Interprets and applies key financial indicators to make better business decisions
* Applies knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organisation's goals
* Meets deadlines, organized, with excellent time management
* Effective communication with clear and concise explanation, reasoning, and persuasion
* Able to create an inclusive team culture across the Division and wider Region
* Respected collaborator who excels in managing, motivating, and developing dispersed teams
* Highly effective in working with little supervision and able to delegate but retain ownership and accountability.
