Basic Functions
Responsible for functioning as aviation ground support equipment (AGSE)
Mechanic. Troubleshoots, inspects, and performs unit level maintenance on AGSE
to include but not limited to the Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU), Generic
Aircraft Nitrogen Generator (GANG) and Standard Aircraft Towing System (SATS).
Assists in the training and mentoring of MNG Soldiers on AGSE Maintenance IAW
applicable TM's. Responsible for Sampling, processing, and evaluating results
of AOAP Samples submitted for AGSE Equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
A. Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and repair assigned aviation ground support equipment to include
but not limited to: Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU), Generic Aircraft
Nitrogen Generator (GANG) and Standard Aircraft Towing System (SATS).
2. Diagnose and Repair assigned Diesel Engine Equipment to include but not
limited to MHE, Wash Carts and Power Generators.
3. Assist in the training of MNG Soldiers enrolled in the GSE Maintenance OJT
program.
4. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and
standards.
5. Perform other tasks as assigned.
6. Supports the Airfield Foreign Object Debris program.
B. Independence:
1. Reports to the AGSE Maintenance Production Control Specialist.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Minimum Qualifications
A. Education Level:
1. Civilian High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of one-year vocational training in automotive mechanics or
equivalent.
B. Experience:
1. Four (4) years of recent experience in the diagnostics, repair and
maintenance of Aviation Ground Support Equipment.
2. Prior Military experience preferred
3. AOAP Experience Preferred
C. Specific knowledge, skills, and ability:
1. Knowledgeable in working with technical maintenance manuals.
2. Knowledgeable in Hazardous Waste Disposal
3. Ability to communicate in English.
4. Possesses a valid driver 's license.
