Job Description

A sustainability specialist to take a lead role in providing expert advice and
undertake reviews on sustainable and low-energy designs across a wide range of
projects. The role demands an understanding of sustainable engineering design
in relation to energy, reuse, remanufacturing, recycling, waste management and
the effects of carbon emissions.Job DutiesUndertake reviews of concept and
detailed design proposals across a wide range of projects.Identify
sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlight
opportunities to increase sustainability credentials.Support strategic, low-
energy design advice.Liaise with key client stakeholders and sectors to
develop their sustainability strategies.Review LEED and Mustadam assessments
and provide advice.Monitor the design process to ensure that the scheme design
objectives are being followed and meets the clients’ requirements and
objectives Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of
an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using
established and well-defined procedures.Works on detailed or routine
engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple
tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications
of standard procedures or methods developed in previous
assignements.Identifies discrepancies in results.Provides guidance to entry
level engineers.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and
schedule with little supervision.Independently performs all the tasks
necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional
position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: ‎15 – ‎20 years’ experience in fieldMiddle East
regional experience preferredPrevious experience within a consultancy on major
projectsAdditional CommentsBased in Neom, Tabuk, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Remote location.Specific Skills Required: Excellent written and spoken
EnglishExperience in LEED, Mustadam or similar certification
proceduresExperience in BIMPerson Specification: Problem solving/lateral
thinking skillsBuild successful working relationships with client, designers
and contractorsGood management skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and
establish priorities for the timely completion of work.High level of
professionalism, initiative and creativity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A
bachelor or master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability or
engineering professional registration or accreditation
