Database Specialist

Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Specialist to provide technical
support for the U.S. military in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This is a
full-time position located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, implement, and administer information systems for the
acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data. Analyze and recommend data
requirements and specifications. Design, normalize, develop, install, and
implement databases. Provide maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and
backup and recovery for databases. Install, configure, and maintain database
management systems software. Analyze and plan for anticipated changes in data
capacity requirements. Develop and administer data standards, policies, and
procedures. Develop and implement data mining and data warehousing programs.
Evaluate and provide recommendations on new database technologies and
architectures. Ensure the rigorous application of information
security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of
data management services. Perform Microsoft SharePoint administration duties.
Provide technical support for the SharePoint environment including assessment
and implementation of new capabilities. Configure SharePoint services and
settings. Document SharePoint configuration and architecture. Manage site
quotas and file size limits. Review and monitor usage reports. Manage content
databases and create new ones as required. Administer and maintain sites.
Manage site layout structure and content. Provide SharePoint support to end
users.
Qualifications:
‎5+ years experience in database administration and management. Bachelor's
degree in a related field. Must be able to meet DoD ‎8570 requirements for IAT
Level II (e.g. Security+, CCNA-Security). Experience with Oracle or SQL Server
database and application server administration. Experience with projecting
long-range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other
managers in the information systems function as well as business function
managers. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize
experience within database relationships using diagrams and explain how
databases interact with one another. Able to work independently or as part of
a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must
be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and willing to relocate
to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
