Performs administrative, managerial and professional tasks by providing
leadership, recommendations, plans, and organized activities for Operating
Room Material Resources (ORMR) Section. Manages overall operations and
organizes the administrative systems of the assigned services.
1.Manages the operational activities of ORMR section, oversees section
activities, schedule, and assignments of subordinates to ensure optimum
utilization of resources.
2.Oversees the ORM-Annual Physical Inventory to ensure that it meets the
Hospital requirements.
3.Develops and implements ORMR policies & procedures to ensures that proper
operating procedures are followed at all times and in-line with Hospital
policies & procedures.
4.Assists in the development of annual capital equipment budget submissions
for the assigned services taking into consideration new programs and facility
expansions.
5.Ensures standardization across OR and eliminates duplication of equipment
and supplies in collaboration with the Product Standardization and Evaluation
Committee.
6.Establishes and maintains a system for the OR Material Resources Committee
(ORMRC) to periodically review products for clinical efficacy and cost
effectiveness.
7.Interacts with Physicians, Head Nurses, Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNC)
and department Heads/Chairmen to ensure coordination of inter-departmental
activities involving OR supplies and equipment, oversees required supplies as
approved, ensuring that all items are duly provided for each scheduled OR
procedure.
8.Establishes, monitors, and compiles evaluations on OR equipment's in
collaboration with Clinical Engineering, and concerned entities.
9.Organizes section meetings with assigned staff to assure accurate exchange
of information.
10.Ensures that a proper inventory of supplies is maintained. Closely
coordinates with Supply Chain Management (SCM) for the availability of these
supplies.
11.Oversees requisitions in the System and collaborates with SCM and Contracts
Management for the timely purchase and delivery of supplies and equipment's.
12.Assists with evaluation of staff work performance. Counsels staff to
improve performance & recommends disciplinary actions. Interviews employment
candidates, make hiring recommendations.
13.Plans and develops guidelines for orientation, training and annual skill
competency review of staff. Assists with training and orientation. Liaises
with medical/clinical departments for cross training as necessary.
14.Assists the Director of PSD with assigned projects and coordinates onsite
related work and ensures that they are completed on time, as well as Maintains
quality assurance records and data on activities of the section. Submits
required reports.
15.Participates in committee meetings as assigned.
16.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
17.Participates in self and other's education, training and development, as
applicable.
18.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Master 's or Bachelor's Degree in Operating Room Management, Hospital
Administration or other related discipline is required.
Five (5) years of related Operating Room Management/ Material experience in
large, complex hospital, health care institution, or related organization,
including two (2) years in a Managerial/Supervisory position with Master 's,
or seven (7) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.
