SENIOR CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST, INVASIVE

Acts in a senior capacity and assists other technologists on performing
sophisticated procedures. Assists the manager with planning and coordination
of cardiac catheterization activities. Performs duties of cardiovascular
technologist (Invasive).

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

‎1.Observes and monitors catheterization procedures for normal/abnormal
patterns. Uses knowledge to evaluate results observed and immediately informs
the cardiologist of any ECG or pressure changes.
‎2.Makes preliminary analysis and hemodynamic interpretation for the
cardiologist's further study and diagnosis. Insures recording all findings and
incorporating these into patient's medical record/system database.
‎3.Carries out all catheterization procedures under direction of cardiologist.
Assists with scrub duties and positions radiographic equipment correctly.
‎4.Analyses and assesses temporary and permanent pacemaker lead (s) and
programs pacemaker devices.
‎5.Receives and completes on a timely manner the work assignments from the
manager of the department and gives assignments to technical staff.
‎6.Assists the manager with daily operational activities, problems solving and
coordinating with physicians/floors regarding patients' preparation and
transportation.
‎7.Insures the availability of proper equipment and supplies prior Cath
procedure and inform the manager of the shortage or need for equipment repair.
‎8.Determines the needs for further training of the cardiovascular technologist
staff.
‎9.Assists the training, education, and supervision of students, fellows, and
new staff members and the evaluation of their performance. Interviews and
orients new staff.
‎10.Ensures that clinical equipment is safe and functional and performs routine
equipment maintenance. Informs the manager of safety hazards or need for
repair/maintenance.
‎11.Assists with emergency resuscitation measures.
‎12.Contributes with research projects, program development, data collection,
and other projects. Participates in departmental quality control and quality
improvement programs.
‎13.Participates in staff meetings, in-services, continuing education, and
quality improvement programs.
‎14.Responsible for one of the sections as needed (Paediatric, Adult or
Electrophysiology). Responsible for section elated staff training and
competency check offs.
‎15.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
‎16.Participates in self and other's education, training, and development, as
applicable.
‎17.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master 's, Bachelor's, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Health Sciences and
completion of accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology is required.

Experience Required

• Grade ‎09:
  Two (‎2) years of related experience with Master's, four (‎4) years with
  Bachelor's, or six (‎6) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.


• Grade ‎10:


• Four (‎4) years as Senior Cardiovascular Technologist (Invasive) at KFSH&RC.


• Average of annual performance appraisal at least (‎3.5) for the last four (‎4) years.


• One hundred (‎100) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates)

• Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.


• Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.


• English proficiency is essential.
