Assists consultant pulmonologist in providing high quality, patient-centred,
consultations, interventions and management for patients with pulmonary
diseases as assigned by the consultant transplant pulmonologist.
Clinical Responsibilities
1. Assisting the consultant pulmonologist in providing inpatient and
outpatient consultations, treatment and management as assigned.
2. Attending specialty clinics and clinical rounds as assigned.
3. Performing specialty procedures as assigned.
4. Participating in the On-Call Schedule for the section of Lung Transplant
Unit.
5. Collaborating and coordinating with other teams and staff members involved
in Lung Transplant.
6. Participating in committees and administrative functions as required.
7. Supervising residents and training fellows in his/her area of expertise as
assigned by the consultant pulmonologist.
8. Maintaining accurate, adequate and timely documentation of patients care
progress as applicable.
9. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
1. Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to residents and
fellows as assigned.
2. Keeps abreast with all the latest techniques and developments, especially
in the field of Transplant Pulmonology, following and implementing them on a
selective basis to improve technical standards.
3. Actively participates in the educational activities and training programs
of the section.
Research Responsibilities
1. Actively participates in clinical, basic and translational research
projects and publishes papers in accordance with Research Advisory Council
Policy in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of post graduate
education and contribute to the national and international recognition of
KFSH&RC.
2. Participates in research activities of the section of Lung Transplantation
and the Organ Transplant Centre.
Administrative Responsibilities
1. Undertakes the administrative duties as assigned by Head of Section or
Director of the Organ Transplant Centre.
2. Participates in all mandatory departmental activities and the Organ
Transplant Centre's Activities, i.e. Staff Meeting, Core Lectures, Research
Forum, etc. and serves on departmental and hospital committees, as required.
3. Actively contributes to the Division's and/or the Department's
documentation of patient care processes and outcomes in the medical chart and
or The Organ Transplant Registry.
4. Assists the department in the development and implementation of techniques
and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the
department and across the hospital.
5. Abides by the current hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant
rules, regulations and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might
occur.
6. Participates in self and others' education, training, and development as
applicable.
7. Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited medical school with good standing, Fellowship
training or equivalent in pulmonary medicine and/or critical care medicine is
required.
