The Merchandise Controller supports the identification of the most suitable
marketing mix strategy for the Brands, that finally enables the organization
to buy the right product at right price and sell it at right price by placing
it on right time at the right place with the right promotion. The Merchandise
Controller is fully responsible to assist the department for immaculate
business analysis and decision making- by uploading and retrieving sales and
inventory data in/from the system; preparing and providing all the required
and relevant reports on time.
He / She is fully responsible for monitoring sell through of each product at
each sore - planning and directing regular inter-store stock transfers to
maximize seasonal sell through at full price stage, minimize price reductions-
suggest and execute the approved Price and Promotions in system
Duties & Responsibilities
* Uploading data of Products; Price; Promotions; allocation and reallocation in the system.
* Preparation of different business reports-by retrieving sales and purchase data from the system in the specified and approved format.
* Preparation of Daily/weekly/Monthly/Seasonal- Sales, Margin and STR reports.
* Monitoring and Maintaining the daily Sales Margin, MTD & YTD as per agreed business plan.
* Regular Stock Movement Analysis and preparation of Stock Status Reports.
* Monitor Stock Level at each store- advice and organize Interstores stock transfer and follow up.
* Monitor sell through, sales mix of each product, at each store, suggest and execute corrective measures-e.g. Price Revision or Relevant Promotions on specific product, Dep't etc .
* SALE & other Promotions Planning, and its execution- Preparation of Discount file for each promotion.
* Visiting stores to cross check the implementation of our agreed business plan.
* Survey of Competitor's Marketing Mix Strategy- Product/Price/Promotions/ Placement strategy and suggest necessary corrective measures required in our Marketing Mix Strategy to get leverage over the competitors
Skills Required
* Minimum of a University degree or equivalent
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in merchandising or stock analytics, within retail.
* Strength in business analytical skills
* Experience or strong knowledge of retail business target norms and terms
* Good team player
* Planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
* Detail oriented
* Ability to perform under pressure and complete tasks within timeframe
* Strong research skills
* Well versed in Microsoft office applications (especially Excel).
-Proficiency in English (Arabic is a Plus)
