SNC Lavalin is looking for an experienced Assets & Maintenance Specialist
for Buses and Depots that should have a minimum of 10 years' technical and
management experience. Must be able to oversee all Buses and Depot Maintenance
activities and verify that it is being carried out safely and to the
passengers and the Employer's satisfaction. Responsible for measuring
Contractors performance, must be capable of evaluating and adjusting
performance where and when required. Overseeing the Contractor's mobilization,
Reviewing the Contractor's submissions; asset and maintenance plans,
procedures, instructions. Overseeing the coordination of the Operator with the
ITS Contractors. Responsible for monitoring, auditing and reporting of the KPI
regime. Must be able to advise on the asset management strategy.
Role and Responsibilities
* Oversee start of operations & maintenance through all the phases of the Bus and ITS Contractors' activities to verify that all the contractual requirements are fully met.
* The assets & maintenance specialist will monitor the operations contractor to see how effectively the following are managed: maintenance regime, inventory management, correct ordering of supplies, maintenance and replacement of operational equipment, optimizing processes, overseeing the operations team, and liaising with external stakeholders etc.,
* Be responsible for the ongoing day to day delivery of passenger services in accordance with the KPI Regime and best market practices. Safety and excellence will be at the heart of all these services.
* The A&M Specialist shall be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of buses and the deports including all the inspections that are required as per the agreed SOPs.
* Perform inspections of Buses as well as depots to confirm KPIs claimed by the operator.
* Perform review and validation of KPIs produced by the operator that are part of the specialist scope.
* Bus Operations expert will compare operational data from ITS systems and inspections status prior to preparing the reports for the client.
* The A&M Specialist will be leading the activities on a 24/7 basis for resolving any bus and depots incidents, accidents and emergencies that may occur on the Bus Project in relation with bus activities .
* Should any incident occur, he shall promptly be present at the scene, provide advice and support to the client's senior management or their representation until the situation is brought under control.
* He will be supporting the Senior manager produce reports based on such incidents and maintain them for further investigation as required.
* Any mitigations on incidents will be coordinated with specialists and third parties, these will be followed up to ensure no such incidents occurs in the future.
Qualification and Education Requirements
* University Degree preferred.
Mandatory Experience
* 10 years ' experience in bus maintenance either in:
* Maintenance experience in Bus operating company, and/or
* Client organization managing a Bus operator, and/or
* Consultant team managing Bus operator.
* Prior experience dealing with multiple Contractors and their performance against their maintenance regime
* Conversant with Maximo platform and asset management
* Experience dealing with Operating procedures, instructions and code of conduct handbooks
* Experience dealing with timetables and materials related to successful and smooth operations of the transportation system
* Experience in managing a bus depot and maintenance workshop
* Quality Management Systems
* Transportation and Safety Procedures
* Must be prepared to be available on a call-out basis should an incident occur outside of the normal operational hours. Maximum time to respond to call-out will be 30 minutes.
* Exposure dealing with any investigations and mitigations on any incidents and comfortably dealing with third parties (Police, Civil Defence, security agencies etc)
* Prior experience dealing with OEMs, manufacturers and independent consultants/accident investigative agencies will be a requisite.
