Plant Manager

people. We are one of the world leaders in connectors, sensors, relays, and
energy products.

Our Energy business unit has big growth plans in the middle east to support
the government electrification initiatives. One of the biggest growth
opportunities lies in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi ‎2030 Vision requires enormous
power grid extensions. TE Energy is partnering with the local power utility to
create the local distribution grid. We are building a new green field plant to
enable short lead times and fast capacity ramp-ups. It is our plan to produce
the first products in the calendar year ‎2023.

We are searching for an agile leader, who will take full ownership of the
plant localization project and build the local factory in Saudi Arabia. Once
the plant is fully operational, you will act as the plant manager.

Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Project Management Accountabilities until plant is operational in ‎2023:
* Support Plant Development in Saudi by managing project deadlines and budgets.
* Define required technical infrastructure.
* Act as POC for external stakeholders and coordinate internal stakeholders to achieve desired results. (this may include effective manufacturing knowledge transfer)
* Qualification of local production, Planning, implementing, reporting and making recommendations.
* Ensure production ramp up in Q4 ‎2023
* Manage all aspects of new plant production equipment which includes Capital , transfer of processes and planning production transitions.
* Manage Plant Staffing planning which involves cooperating with local partners on hiring strategy and developing training plans.

Plant Manager Accountabilities:

Once the plant if fully operational as the plant manager you will be
responsible for the day-to-day operations, providing leadership to the site
location and supporting short term and long-term strategic planning across the
manufacturing functions to achieve operational and financial solutions. You
will support manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory
control, EH&S, shipping/receiving and quality focusing on the development of
technologies, continuous improvement and translating customer requirements
into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

• Develop and maintain a site strategy and road map which aligns with the Energy business strategy and customer demand.


• Develop and manage budgets, policies, procedures, and compliance activities.


• Drive Lean manufacturing strategies to achieve continuous improvements across areas such as Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost


• Lead and support development and transformation of the plant across all departments and functions to support the Business strategy


• Support profitable growth through driving transformational change, optimizing resources and promoting a strong productivity culture to achieve delivery of agreed targets and growth expectations.


• Initiate annual carbon footprint reduction projects


• Build and develop a motivated team to strengthen individual, team and business performance.


• Drive people management activities including hiring, professional development, performance management and employee relations for direct reports


• Developing and nurturing an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) performance of the factory.

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) Or equivalent experience in high volume manufacturing environment ‎5- ‎10 years.


• Must have minimum ‎5 years' experience in a similar Plant Manager role.


• Must have a demonstrated experience leading factory transformation and project management (managing complete process for new manufacturing lines).


• Must have experience with injection molding in a custom manufacturing environment; thermoplastic Molding of silicon rubber (would be an advantage)


• Technical knowledge of material science. Advantage


• Strong communication skills with proven success in driving strategic vision and delivering results


• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to build and motivate effective teams


• Experience supporting continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing desirable.


• Must be fluent in Arabic and English.


• Good understanding of Quality and testing requirements.


• Knowledge of operations planning across supply chain areas
